Do customizers want their own "Member Project" sub-forum?

This forum is for those members who wish to post continuously updated threads on their Lincoln that is being customized beyond stock. Members who are restoring their cars to original, should use the regular Members' Projects forum.

I think that there is a desire to keep the customized work separate from the restoration work. There is room in this world for both. While many may not agree that a Lincoln should ever be anything but stock, there are those who love to read about it regardless.

I guess I don't understand. Unless you have found the one owner, never changed and completely original you are modernizing or customizing. Jay Leno says it has to be exactly from the factory to be original including not being repainted. (His 60's continental doesn't even have small dings, scratches or rock chips repaired. 100% all original) I always appreciate the time and work that goes into a restoration that is as close to "original" as possible, but the honest truth is any car looses followers unless a younger generation customizes and updates the car. An attitude of "original or nothing" is doomed to die alone and once that happens their car is only going to rust away or be customized by a younger generation that may or may not get others interested into the year and style of car. My God I never even heard of a grand torino until the Clint Eastwood film came out.

History is something you learn by reading and studying. It doesn't just happen.

It's easier for those of us that lived it, I guess. 8-tracks, vinyl records, wax cylinder records, wire recorders, victrolas, and other media all predate our digital music players.

I've never seen a wax cylinder or a wire recorder or a victrola, but I know they exist. I also know that something will replace our fancy phones and cars some day. And I'll probably complain about it when it happens.
