1966 fan clutch still available new at NAPA
Needing one of these, I phoned the usual suspects and got a quote of $89.95 + shipping and they mentioned it was a brand new unit, which surprised me.
In checking at a couple local auto parts stores, their books only go back to 1968, but the NAPA guy did some further investigation and called back with a price of $44.99. Got the unit the next day and it's a perfect fit.

Don't know if your year is the same, but Hayden #2741 fits the earlier Lincolns. I bought one this last summer for $33.68 at a local auto parts store. The application was Chevy Corvette- fits perfect.

Todd,
Would the Hayden fan clutch fit 1961-1965?

I would imagine it would. I got the part number off an earlier post on this board, but of course can not find it now..

Is there anyway we can get a tacked topic for each year in the parts forum? Somewhere where we can submit info like this so users can easily find this cross reference information?
EDIT: Ok, I noticed their is a parts cross reference forum. Is anybody collecting this info? It seems like the board has a ton of info that is buried all over the place; is there anyway to submit info for the Parts Cross reference forum?

Hi Todd,
Is the above link the post you were thinking about?
It suggests that the Hayden 2710 is the correct one and that the 2741 did'nt quite work as well.
I am just about to order one for myself, but now I am unsure of what model to get.
Cheers Angelo

Well my wife just threw the box away a couple of weeks ago...
I did check the number on the box when I posted earlier in this thread, so I am sure that is what I used.
In the thread you posted above, they both were fitting it to a 1967 Lincoln, which probably is the correct one for the later models. I did no alterations to the fan clutch right out of the box.

Hey guys,
When I started this thread, I posted the NAPA part number from the invoice and included info from the box.
Closer inspection of the new clutch shows a fine ink stamp of: 27100517
So, would that imply Hayden #2710 ?
It fits my '66, so should work on the '67.

For the record, I used one of these Hayden 2710 clutches on my 77 when I converted it from a flex fan. I even used a 67 Lincoln AC fan on it.
I have some fan clutches from 66 and 67s Lincolns and they are of a different style. The fins are smaller and closer together on these compared to the modern and simpler Hayden design. Maybe one day I'll post pics.
