Application: 1966, 1967, 1968 Lincolns with 462 Engines

Original Ford PN: C3VY 9601-A

Original MOTORCRAFT PN: FA-4
Catalogued for 65/68 LINC 430 4V-462

(Has a 1963 service number so this obviously fits from 1963 (reintroduction of 430 4V) to the 1968 462)

10 25/64" O.D. X 2 1/2" THICK

(I forgot...The third character in the PN Prefix "V" makes it LINC specific)

Anyone bought a Fram unit recently? This thread had a post that eluded to the fact that only the older Fram filters were orange.

Dan:

I recently bought a "Dynamic" brand air filter AFK-13, on eBay. All black - in the original box, no date of mfg that I can find ... it offers the following info -

"Save over 6 cents per gal. of gas" (I can only imagine!)
replaces Fram CA-154, Purolator AFP-13, AC A-18-C.

further it cross-references the following applications -

'58-62 Galaxie 6 cyl
'59 Galaxie 292 V8
'58-69 Galaxie 332-352 V8
'58-60 T-Bird V8 All
'68 Lincoln Continental 462
'63-67 Lincoln Continental All
'59-60 Lincoln Continental All
'61-62 Mercury 6 cyl All
'58-60 Mercury All (except Marauder)
'68-69 Rambler 6 cyl 232 w/ snorkle
'65-67 Rambler 6 cyl OHV w/o snorkle

lastly it offers OEM #C3VY-9601A, #C0ME-9601A, #8991677 (Rambler #?!)

FYI,

I have added the vehicle cross reference info to the post above. It is valuable.

Even no-longer-existing brands are welcome because we can buy them from ebay and be sure they fit our Lincolns.

My 1960-64 MPC says that 1964 Lincolns and 1964 Comets with the 170-1V and 200-1V engines use C5ZZ-9601-A if the vehicle is equipped with closed emission reduction system.

Interesting. Do you have any other manufacturer's part numbers to cross it to? It can be added as another sub-category.

I don't have any numbers to cross it to, but I haven't looked that hard. I found some nos filters (C3VY-9601-A ) for open emission cars and am using them with the lid that fits with those. I have the original lid for the closed emission reduction system which has a rubber insert on the inside and when I use that with the C3VY filter it sits to high.
I just thought to check my 1966 Ford Ready Reference Catalog and found that the C5ZZ-9601-A filter also fits '66 Ford (except Police Interceptor and 7 Litre), Fairlane and Thunderbird with 352, 390 and 428 with closed emissions. And '65 352 and 390 with closed emissions.
Inside diameter is 9.65" Height is 2.70". No outside diameter is given.
I'll try to see if I can find out any more info on these.

According to this E-bay auction, the Purolator air filter number for 1961-62 Lincolns is AFP-40. Haven't found anything to replace the C5ZZ-9601-A yet.
