1966 Lincoln SB 15: Front & Rear Window Wiring Diagrams - 9MB

This is a Service Bulletin issued by Ford,December 22,1965, and it shows electrical diagrams that were apparently omitted from the 66 service manual. Should be of interest to you 60's model cars. This SB was contributed by JIM AYRES of Costa Mesa ,California. Thanks, JIM. Much appreciated. Pete

Note: Somehow these pictures came in backwards. Look at the last one for the contents of the SB. Pages are in chronological order from the bottom. Pete

Note: Page 8 is missing or duplicate of page 7. Scroll down for page 8 and down more for a single PDF of the entire TSB.

Pete, I can't thank you enough for sharing these pages. I did notice that the '66 manual didn't have those items diagramed out; I was resorting to '67 diagrams to refer to them, but the hazard circuit was year-specific.

I will be in need of them; thank you again!

Yeah. The 66 manual omitted the front power window schematics, among other things.

Tony; I'm not sure what your looking for here or what's missing. I have the 66 power window diagram here as well as the hazard warning circuit in the SB. Let me know what your looking for and I'll send it to you if I have it. Pete

Actually, Pete, I have everything else. I copied the wiring diagrams from another local owner's shop manual, but he didn't have the service bulletin. Thanks to your post, I now have everything on the year. I'll let Kenny (the other local owner) know and direct him to the forum.

Ok Glad you have what you need. However this SB is #15 which means there are at least 14 more and who knows how many were issued that year. You should keep a look out for other SB's and buy them as you can. If you do get anymore it would be appreciated if you could post them with this one. Thanks and good luck with your car. Pete

This is what I had been looking. The car came with the circuit breaker panel disassembled. What a mess!! Thanks again for posting SB 15.

Thanks. I've looked in vain for some of those diagrams several times.
Here it is reformatted it into a single PDF.

Re: 1966 Lincoln SB 15: Rear Window Schematics Diagrams

Post by Dan Szwarc »

I'm bumping this because I might redraw the front schematics for the power windows to include just the switches, motors, and power feeds.

Both Doug and I are having massive front power window problems and I want to develop and easy solution and understand why the RF window is so slow even with new switches. I have an idea (horrible voltage drop over corroded wires resulting is little voltage remaining to drive the windows), but I want to show it on paper and maybe support it with some math.

It will also help be find an easy solution (relays) and maybe we can kill this problem dead for everyone.
