1979 Towncar facelift

Post by sauceman »

Well I went across the border to 'merica today to pick up this car from a customer for a full paint and a few odds and sodds to sort out. It's an original 5599 mile car! An absolute time capsule. The main issue is the paint has been stained, like something got spilled on it, and won't buff out. Even wet sanding and polish get's rid of it for a day but it comes right back.

So the goal is to remove all trim and chrome, remove the doors, hood and trunk and repaint the car so that it looks absolute factory and nobody will be able to tell it's been re-sprayed right down to the factory pinstripes.

Sure is.

The car is all stripped and we started the sanding process :)

No, complete repaint. You won't be able to tell it's been repainted. We had to fix several door gaps, door bottoms gronched from opening unto curbs and some smaller dents and low spots.
