Well I'll be a SOB. Finally got these exhaust manifolds off. Well, one of them anyway, but the main bolts on the other side are loose and ready to come out. Ended up taking a chisel to loosen up 2 of the brass bolts, but that did the trick. Now to get a new timing chain set, and clean this thing up, then will be all set to drop back in.

Alright guys, I know it’s been a while and much has happened since the last time I posted. Finally got a house and the 61 sitting comfortably in the garage. Now that it’s home I’m finally able to tear in to this build. First thing I’m trying to do is get these doors off and the manual doesn’t have info on removing the harness and vacuum lines. I searched the forum but nothing came up. Does anybody know the best way to get these harnesses through the doors?

I have not done this on a rear hinged door. However it should not be much different than other doors.

Going slow and breathing helps.
Take pictures and bag/label everything. Even really good shop manuals do not have the most details.
And shop manuals from the 60s are no where close to being really good.
The wiring and any vacuum is 60+ years old.
Before fishing anything out I would go over with a conditioner. Spray on and wipe down wiring while it is still inside the door.
This does a number of things
It will remove dirt
It will get some moisture back into the plastic wiring cover
And may make the harness easier to remove

Disconnect wiring and vacuum connections. Then remove all of those parts. (Vacuum motor, power window motor, window glass & regulator ..)
Then check the harness to make sure any clamps & retainers are removed.
The fish it out the opening in the side of the door.

Again take lots of pictures. Bag/tag loose parts. And don't forget the first thing

Thanks man! I got a little bit further but am getting held up by window removal. I recall the window having to be rolled down to get it off the track, but don’t have my battery hooked up. Do you know how I can jump the window motor to get it to roll down?

Finally got it! Once the harness clamps came off it was easy. Fitting my hand behind the window tracks, not so much...
