Day 36
Without the car, hard to make much progress but got the entire truck components transfered over from the old lid to the new, including the trim, suprisingly the trim matched up well between the original rusted out 63 lid and the new 62 lid i am using.

  • Check brakes, tweak master cylinder rod (converted to dual master and front disk back in 09 and all new lines) need to check entire system. - To Be Done

Day 37
Got the car back last night from the upholster, top was finished. More Trim went on, removed all the exhaust but drivers header wasn't bugging after days of soaking and heat, so studs snappend which forced me to bring it to a shop this am. All interior was picked up this AM as well. Figured out no start, dash wire was missing, cause the original connector had a chunk missing from teh main wire, so i found where it when and she turned over. Now i gotta get the ignition back into the dash.

That list is getting shorter and shorter. Great job. Can't wait to see it finished and especially the interior. You should make San Antonio your honeymoon stopover. That way if your bride feels a longing her for man with bruised knuckles and greasy hands, you can stop over here and knock a few things off my list for one car or another
Seriously it's an impressive job on an aggressive timeline. Best of luck to you both in your life together. While your future wife may or may not share your love of things automotive, you will find, as I have, that she will become a big part of what makes it all worthwhile! :smt006

Day 39
In the end, a 3 dollar gasket that no one has did me in. After getting the Electric fuel pump hooked up and wired, to help prime the engine, she fired right up and purred just like i left her 6+ years ago, and then the carb started spitting fuel, stuck floats, couldn't save the gasket and no one had it. Continued on and got the front and rear bumper mounted, and most of the trim on in the limited hours i had today, a day before the wedding.

IF weather permits, i will put the interior in quick in the am, and hopefully at least be able to snap a few photos by using man power to move it.

So close!!! If i didn't' lose days in the interior shop i probably would of made it.

Plenty of progress for some great wedding pictures. And then you can relax and take your time putting on the finishing touches. It looks really good in the pictures. I'm assuming postponing the wedding for a few days to finish the car is not an option? :o Just kidding. Your wedding is an unforgettable day. Bask in it.

You did an amazing job in a very short amount of time. Could have been an episode on the Velocity channel! And congratulations!

Thanks Guys for the Congrats. Here are some interior pics, before we leave. Again cell phone camera doesn't do any colors justice and everything was just laid in place quickly to get that shot of all the guys yesterday.
