Amazing progress. I have a hard time sticking to replacing the PTO drive belt on my mower deck. You look experienced in body work so this may be preaching to the choir, but make sure you have those doors and other removed body panels in the same orientation to the rest of the body as they will be when reassembled before you put on paint. Probably doesn't matter much with the primer. What color is it going to be in the end?

thanks steve. since i only have my garage to paint in i have to do it in stages. all the jams and and the backs and sides of the doors will be done first and off the car then the doors will mountbe mounted to the car and the rest will be painted. have to do that twice once for primer and once for topcoat. i will probably get some slack but i am not going to stick with a stock color. i am leaning towards porsche aqua blue pearl. interior will be lincoln medium blue carpet, dash and then white door panels and maybe two tone or all white seats. just have to get the dye matched so i can paint the dash and maybed the seats if time permits.

Night 8 & 9
Unfortunately its been raining the last two days from the remnants of a tropical storm here in New England, so between that and wedding meetings to attend after work, there hasn't been much progress the last two nights. Was able to get 3 of my 4 temp walls up in the garage though and prove out my idea which worked out great, basically made giant shower curtains out of some eye hooks, 100ft of steel rope, zip ties, grommets and 7mil clear plastic. Just have one more wall to go, need to buy more steel rope. Hopefully the weather clears so i can get to prepping the rest of the garage, car, masking off areas, etc and get ready to spray primer on Saturday.

Night 10

Weather not helping out, very humid and now turning hot next couple days, will delay paint till at least sunday if not monday now. Still got the final wall up for the temp paint booth, removed the final bits of windshield trim from the car. Finished full disassembly of the lower dashes and masked them and all gauges for paint. Night 11 will be a wash due to a gig i have scheduled, Saturday plan is to get everything prepped, masked, cleaned and ready for paint.

Day/Night 12 & 13
Getting everything masked for paint, wiped down, cleaned and garage totaly cleaned out watered down, plastic walls went up along with floor coverings and fans put in place. If the primer is in this afternoon, the plan is to prime all the door jams and undersides of all doors, hood, trunk and flapper panel tonight.

Hey, I'm down in the Westerly RI area with my '68. If you need a hand from another Lincoln fanatic, send me a PM! Seriously. Sounds like a great challenge.

Just noticed this thread. Great work; I like the color. If you can, try to make it to the meet in Bartlett, NH. Starts October 12. Probably too late to register, but you can always swing by.
