John,

The 1st thing you forgot to tell us is what year vert he has ??? I know when the deck lid pump on my 66 is low on type f it will not open the deck lid far enough to activate the deck open limit switch which tells the system the deck lid is up and to operate the flipper. If he has the key switch option at the gas tank fill he can do this himself if not 2 people (1 to operate top, 1 to LIGHTLY press the trunk lid back) to see if that switch needs adjust or even is working or???? open the truck as far as it will go then give it a slight push 1/2"-1" backwards. If the flipper then operates the switch needs an adjust if nothing happen is nor of an issue. Also make sure the car is not on an incline with the nose going down hill. If there is a bit of play in the deck lid or cylinders the lid will float forward and not activate the deck open limit switch telling the flipper to operate.

If it is a 66 or 67 it really sounds like the pump in the driver side fender is low on Type F fluid.

Also, where is he in Delaware, I am north of Philly (by Trenton NJ) I believe Stuart Cohen here is in Freehold, NJ not too far from Delaware.

Rob,

Thank you for the info! Had a brain fart, 1966! He lives in Dover, DE. The fluid was full but I'll have him pull on deck lid a little. If any interest in going out to help let me know and I'll get you guys connected. I think the car is in paint right now. Thank you
