Re: New look: Prime for TLF. VOTE!
I like it, it took me by surprise when I turned it on but when I logged on it looked familiar again, ( thought I had turned on another site).
Thanks Dan for all you do for all the Lincoln Enthusiasts.

Really like the logo. Let me know when you figure out how I can make it wider.
Nice work, Dan.

Re: New look: Prime for TLF. VOTE!
Dan - here's a screen shot to illustrate what a few others described. for me too, much of the text / background contrast is too low, very hard to read.
The circled area is one example, but on all the screens, the same colors appear at some level.
Honestly, I liked the old format better overall, had no concerns with it. My eyes are on the feeble side and it's a lot easier to look at.
My 2 cents
Just another observation... I'm not changing any settings of any kind, anywhere, and I get the new look sometimes when open a new TLF session, sometimes, like I when I just opened it to leave this feedback, it opened in the old version. It's done this a couple times...weird.
Thanks,
Perry

I see. No wonder. I never read those pages because I know all the forums.
That is something I can probably fix.

Dan, I don't really care one way or the other.
My hope simply is, however, that this BB doesn't get like certain e-mail 'servers' or whatever that LOVE to change for the sake of change . . with no advantages or gains.
THAT is just somebody trying to justify their job, and is by definition, pathetic. Yet I have confidence that you, Dan, won't do that! Happy New Year! BTW, other clubs don't have such nice on-line resources like the LCOC does, courtesy of folks like you.

I think it looks good. I mainly view it on an ipad so the width is fine for me. That being said, I do have some minor experience with php and web design so if you need some help altering the code, let me know.

Re: New look: Prime for TLF. VOTE!
I like a fresh look. It keeps the forum from looking "old" or "neglected". The forum's software is pretty mature, but also lacks features I'd like to have (upvoting of posts is one). Because of my add-on anti-spammer measures, we have very few garbage posts from spammer and bots. I probably delete 3 to 5 accounts per year total.
For anyone whose ever used other car forums, you should notice that we don't have any ads. NONE WHATSOEVER. This is because people donate to pay for server costs and buy MPCs and Shop Manuals. Keep it up. It is necessary.
Ads degrade the experience, pushing crap nobody really wants. Keeping people's signatures in-line with the rules keeps the forum from looking like somebody's MySpace page.

I like the new look....definitely better without that intro "splash" page...I never thought that was a good photo because the car next to the Continental had the trunk open and it looked weird.

The splash page is still there at http://www.thelincolnforum.net, and the forum is located at http://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3. Just bookmark the second link and you'll never have to see the splash page.
I've been meaning to update/delete the splash page, but it's also the only way to find the gallery, which is rarely used now.

I like it a lot. Looks really professional! Took me by surprise. I was worried though, "is everything going to be different once i log in" but nope, still know where everything is lol, which i see as good.
Voting for posts, and things like that, meh. dont know if thats really needed though. we come here to get info, help others, or just talk about our cars, right?
