76 Mark IV a/c line insulation

Post by kdtbird »

I am having my a/c hoses rebuilt at Tubes n Hoses. The original hoses have a section of insulation on them but Tubes n Hoses does not have any type of insulation for the hoses. Is the insulation actually for insulation or just to prevent chaffing? Any suggestions where I can find an apprropriate insulating sleeve? I prefer not to use the pre split foam I find at Home depot, etc.

Unlike the question I asked the other day, that insulation is for heat shielding the cooling line.
