For Sale Forum Etiquette

This area is for members to post Lincoln-related automotive items for sale or trade (help the buyer find you!). Auction links are allowed. Dealers in automotive parts are discouraged from using this free bulletin board to advertise their "for profit" sales. Personal sales are encouraged to help Lincoln owners fix their cars. Please post to your message if the item has been sold. All posts over 90 days old will be deleted.

For Sale Forum Etiquette

Post by Dan Szwarc »

When you sell, just edit the title to say SOLD. The forum admins have better things to do than delete your posts. The system will automatically delete posts over 45 days old.

If you have something for sale and you don't want it to be deleted, then periodically post a "bump" or update to your original message and it will remain for another 45 days until you do it again or it gets deleted.

Can you make it to where pics are required if someone wants to sell something, and make them have something like a piece of paper in the pic showing their username on here and the date. It'll help with the scams.

This seems like the most appropriate place to state the following:

"Suggestions for SELLERS"

To improve the odds of selling, and to minimize "unknowns", please include the following in your ad copy:

-- paint COLOR(s) [Believe it or not, there are prospective buyers that despise dark paint colors!]

-- type & color of upholstery (and condition: any rips, tears, weaknesses?)

-- number of DOORS [Believe it or not, there are some who will NOT buy a two-door Lincoln!]

Thank you.
