15" Turbines on 62 Lincoln

This area is for those who need help modernizing their Lincoln for purposes other than strict restoration. Such questions can be about adding an electric fuel pump, adding fuel injection, boosting horsepower or gas mileage, or tightening or lowering the suspension. Body customizing and chopping can also be here (although this practice is not encouraged by the LCOC).

15" Turbines on 62 Lincoln

Post by Buckeye Steve »

I've changed my 14" wheels out for 15" steel ones but would like to put some nice Lincoln Turbine Wheels on my 62. Will the Turbine wheels fit a 62? The 62 is 5x5.

Dan, if this should be is custimization section, pleae put it there.

Thanks

If they are like the deep dish wheels, they will need some modification. I had to put longer wheel studs, hub-centric rings, and remove front drum rivets to get the Mark deep dish wheels to fit. No issues ever with clearance or rub after install, though.
Here's my thread on it. https://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/ ... hp?t=43847

I guess this could fall under Chassis and Brakes since I lumped wheels in there, but...

Moving to the custom sub-forum.

So it looks like I need to know a lot more about the 75-77 Lincoln Turbine wheels before I make the move, like length of wheel studs needed, offset, etc. Thanks, Suicidekid63, the more I know beforehand the better. Now to find info on those turbine wheels

15x6 5x5 w/ 4" offset
Here is a rundown of parts I used
stud length- Dorman brand- 1/2-20 x 2.25" long with a .619 knurl
hub centric rings- 78mm OD x 72mm IDhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0025WWU6I/re ... us?ie=UTF8
open end conical lug nuts from Lug Nut Guys https://www.lugnutguys.com/
I assume since deep dish and turbines were both an option, these would work for both.

One last thought. I'm think of converting the front brake to disc, using 65 or later Lincoln parts. Would it make sense to wait and do the brake conversion at the same time and the turbine wheels? Maybe putting the disc brakes on might eliminate some of the work on the Turbine wheel conversion????

Thanks, an as always your advice is golden cause you've already done it.

I know you wouldn't have to drill out the drum rivets and you may not need longer wheel studs or hub centric rings, if you go with the front disc's.
Mine are still stock drums, so IDK 100%. You might have to be the guinea pig.
