What's a "Martino"

Any Lincoln fact related question can be posted here. Questions such as how many Contintenal convertibles were produced in MY1965? How much was the Town Car option in 1969? What size of tire was standard on a 1953 Premiere? or Does the Mark II retractible prototype still exist?

(on the vert shorty) I'm waiting for a bunch of Shriners to jump out of it. Odd looking, for sure. Just doesn't flow correctly. IMO Grant it, I'd probably snag one up if one was ever able to. lol

I agree with a couple other posters here. "Some people say why?", and I say the same thing.

If you are looking for unique, you got it.

None of these 2 doors ever look good because they are always shortened to use one of the 4 door doors on each side screwing up all the proportions. This was not done in 1966 when the actual 2 door came out. It was on the full wheelbase. If someone actually did a full size 2 door, that would be interesting.

If you look at this car they did lengthen the front doors to fix that issue, they appear to be 6-8 inches longer than the original 4 door front doors.

Yes, but it is still way too short and looks goofy.

GAWD--that really makes me wish I had taken pictures of the Renault Rat (basically, an Alliance with the El Camino treatment)...just to share someone else's imaginative approach.

Is it worth $50,000? More like it would take $50,000 to bring that car back and even then it would never be worth that amount.

Here is a link to a coupe that sold in March 2011 for $23k:

I just saw the 1962 two-door "prototype" in the July 2011 Hemmings for sale at victorycars.com for $45,000 when it just sold at auction in March for only $23,100. Some markup. Mike says it looks dorky. I agree.

It going up for sale in Jan 22 in Scottsdale, AZ!

I like this car. It looks like someone took a 1964 convertible and mounted a 1963 sedan clip to the rear. The doors for some reason remind me of and old international scout. They blend better than the other custom coupes. If you look at the close up around the strange VIN# the is green chipped paint and the dash has flaking paint showing a light green. Who knows???????? It's wierd but I 'd fit it into my future collection.

I'd suggest it's far more likely that the chassis dates from 63.
The 62-64 grille opening is the same.

For a long time I wanted to make a 1966 Lincoln convertible coupe. It would not be very difficult starting with a foor door convertible and using a coupe door and rear quarter sections. After measuring everything at the shop it turns out that it could be done. Everything would be there and I even worked out a modification for a proper fitting quarter glass with out changing anything to the top. Sadly I came up with the idea after getting rid of a convertible several years back. I purchased a coupe and upon stripping the car down I came up with this idea.
