The rust bucket does have larger and better shaped doors, but it needs another foot between the door and rear wheel. Or perhaps moving the rear wheel opening back to minimize rear overhang would help. Either way a long run for a short slide.

There is one in existence, somewhere; pictures below. And I can't really see that being a complication for rear passengers in the Chinese fire drill. In fact, the way I see it, their angle of escape would be less obstructed by that kind of hinging.
