Lucille Ball's 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible

Any Lincoln fact related question can be posted here. Questions such as how many Contintenal convertibles were produced in MY1965? How much was the Town Car option in 1969? What size of tire was standard on a 1953 Premiere? or Does the Mark II retractible prototype still exist?

Lucille Ball's 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible

Post by tbeck1 »

I am the fourth owner of a 1963 Lincoln Convertible with 36,000 original miles. The previous two owners have individually confirmed to me that Lucille Ball was the original owner of this car. The second owner bought it from a dealer in Palm Springs CA in 1964. Can anyone help me figure out how I could go about verifying the original ownership of this car?
Thank you,

Proof is a copy of the original title with the VIN in her name. Anything else is bullshit.

You might try Lucy's fan page to see if anyone has posted pics of her with the car. Or you can try writing to her kids,Lucy and Desi, to see if they remember the car. Of course, even if it's confirmed that she owned a '63 convertible, you would still want proof that your car was hers.
Here are a few pics of Lucy with her children. Maybe there are more out there somewhere.

P.S. We'd like to see pics of your car!

Tom, this is a long shot, but is the selling dealer still around in some fashion?? Be a celebrity sale, they might have some original paperwork somewhere.
If all else fails, look for some red hair in the carpet.

What if the carpet doesn't match the drapes?

At least a hair sample could result in a DNA test and be verified proving that person at least... dropped a hair in the car.

Wouldn't you need to dig up her late deceased corpse to verify the DNA? I imagine the kids wouldn't mind a bit. But if you get in touch with them, they'd have some 'splainin to do. :D

Hi Mjabbasi,

Hope all is well.

Off topic slightly, but I'm sure everyone would appreciate some photos of your cars if you still own them. I know I would.

What's it like driving them where you live and are they seen as oddities?

Take care,
