Good afternoon all, after 10 years of trying to tune the 2150 to idle smoothly, I've about had it. Would there be any problems with fitment, EGR, or vacuum lines with going with a Holley 2 Barrell? Specifically the one below?
Engine was rebuilt with compcams 252H with.468 lift and 206 duration at .50 lift.
Thanks guys

Re: Holley 2 Barrell replacement for 1979 400?
There are very few who have replaced their 2-bbl with a Holley, but it is the only 2-bbl choice.
I recommend upgrading to a 4-bbl on your 400. I did. It was glorious. Now, I went with a bizarre offenhouser manifold, but there’s an Edelbrock you could use.

Do some searching and see what you get. If you start a project, please post about it.
I have to say you are the first person I know to have a 400 rebuilt. What did that run you?

Hey Dan, sorry for the late reply, realestate market has me putting in 12 hr days.
I paid $3,872 nine years ago.
Some people would think it was a waste to do that and not get heads but I couldn't justify another 2 grand, at least ,even back then.
I do wish I would have got the roller conversion and a four barrel intake and manifold though I was just worried about vacuum and A/C issues as working air is non negotiable for me lol.
But a Conversion may be the more sensible than a giant 2 barrel.
Thanks

Go with the Holley. You’ll be fine.
