Mark V / 460 cubic inch / intermittent stalling

Post by jab60 »

Hello. I have a Mark V with the 460 engine. Every 50 miles or so the car will stall. It will not restart but if I wait about 3 or 4 minutes it will fire right up and be good until next time. I have changed the ignition module 3 times over the last 10 years. Could these modules be that bad or could it be something else? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

Fuel filter at the carb. Change it. My Mercury did this.

Change the pickup under the distributor.
Change the coil.

It could be temperature related. The ignition module only does the firing.

It almost sounds like vapor lock. Is this happening on hot days? Try adding some Marvel mystery oil to the gasoline and see if that helps.
