Pics of stock exhaust hangers on 69 Continental?

Post by MFE »

The previous owner of my 69 Continental cut the straps on the factory hangers over the rear axle. Does anybody have a pic of what those hangers look like when they're intact?

Here ya go. The old ones are still mostly up there. Crawl under and look. They probably only cut the bottom part off. You can fab those.

Unfortunately, that is very common with these cars, unscrupulous owners or mechanics chopping s**t up because they think it's easier. Luckily, Frankenstein wasn't hacked up at the hangers; the prior owner opted to hack off the resonators at the tabs instead of the hangers. I had done a temporary fix to my hangers about a year ago or so, with the intent of going back to them with a more permanent fix, replacing the rubber in them with new bulk sheet-rubber I bought. I still have yet to try that, but at least my temp-fixes are still holding up.
