Is adhesive necessary for front seal, PS pump replacement?
I developed an annoying engine knock (mechanical - not pinging) which I could feel when touching the passenger-side valve cover, but after pulling each spark plug wire and removing the belts to isolate the noise, determined the knock was coming from the power steering pump. I replaced this pump with...

Re: PCV Valve with/without spring 1967
Thanks for posting these bulletins, it clears up some of the discrepancies we've discussed. I ordered a new PVC valve, but with holiday shipping it's taking forever to get here.

Re: PCV Valve with/without spring 1967
That's a good point regarding the hose. Is heater hose the correct one to use to avoid collapse or is another type recommended. The MPC only talks about sizing.

Re: PCV Valve with/without spring 1967
Thanks for posting this Thomas. That's how my PCV is set up, with the grommet and the press-in valve. My MPC shows it this way also. Also thanks KULTULZ for the previous diagram which I think is for models up to 1966+ and maybe early 1967. I did remove my valve and cleaned it by soaking it in brake ...

Re: PCV Valve with/without spring 1967
The valve doesn't thread into anything. It appears to be pressed into a rubber grommet which holds it in place. There appears to be no actual spring inside mine, which I suspect is causing some of the exhaust problems. I'm going to stop by a local store and see what they have in stock.

PCV Valve with/without spring 1967
The original PCV valves has a spring inside the valve according to the shop manual, but the current replacements I've seen don't seem to have the spring. The internal element is loose and rattles around inside the housing. Does this new type function like the original? Does it matter which one I use...

Re: 1968 Vacuum Door Lock Diagrams and Trouble Shoot
The heater water valve vacuum line is connected to the same line that goes to the outside-recirc air door, at least on a '67. I have a chart that shows the water valve always has vacuum to it except when the system is off (air door in recirc position) and on max cool (air door in recirc position). A...

Re: 1968 Vacuum Door Lock Diagrams and Trouble Shoot
I think one goes to the neutral safety switch on the column for the emergency brake release. I'm not sure of the other one but will check later.

Re: Interior Wood Veneer Options
Thanks guys! I purchased the veneer raw (no backing) from a seller on eBay, investorswife was the seller ID and their store is Exotic Wood Veneer. I dampened the sheets first and sandwiched them between wood with grips to flatten them before working on them. I then adhered them to the aluminum backi...

Re: Interior Wood Veneer Options
I replaced my panels with quilted bubinga, one of my favorite woods. As Bob said, I attached the veneer with 3M Heavy Duty Adhesive and 10 coats of satin urethane. I bookmatched the driver and passenger doors so they all look balanced when sitting in the car. It was a ton of work but I'm happy with ...

Re: Windows work but no courtesy lights - '67 vert
The problem here is now solved after removing the warning lamp/courtesy light relay in the center post and cleaning it up (thanks Todd!). For reference to all, if the latch switch is operational, it controls both the auto drop feature through the retractable window relay, and the door open warning l...

Re: Windows work but no courtesy lights - '67 vert
Thanks Jeff! I reviewed the wiring schematics and noticed the warning switch is connected to both the retractable window control relay, located in the center post, and the open door warning relay. I think this second relay is the problem, but I have no idea where it is located. Does anyone know wher...

Re: Windows work but no courtesy lights - '67 vert
Isn't the door open warning switch the "toothpick" mounted on the latch? Isn't this the same switch that activates the automatic drop feature? The knife switch is the large lever in the door jamb (also called the limit switch) which allows the window to drop 6" and then cuts out and s...

Windows work but no courtesy lights - '67 vert
I'm having trouble with the driver's rear door on a 1967 convertible. The courtesy lights and the door open warning light are not working when the door is opened, even thought the automatic drop circuit is working perfectly. The courtesy lights come on with any other door opened and the knob on the ...
