The name of the transmission conditioner that Dan S is talking about is Lucus. It is a 20 oz bottle that sells for $7-10. I found it at NAPA and a Carquest store.

Oil level keeps rising on 462
First I should have asked if your transmission fluid level keeps going down and your engine oil level keeps going up with no visible sine of leakage. The vacuum modulator has a vacuum line connected to it. That vacuum goes right back to the engine somewhere. If the modulator is bad, one way to tell ...

Oil level keeps rising on 462
I had a simular problem with my 65 430. It was a bad vacuum modulator on the transmission. Easy fix, jsut watch for the rod that comes out of the modulator and into the bottom of the trans through the pan. i dropped my into the pan and then had to drop the pan. Try to get the part at NAPA. Bakers'ge...

Single or Double Dipper?
My 3 year old Baker's new single master cylinder went out. What year dual master cylinder can be used? Has anybody updated a single to a dual using Baker's kit? Does anybody have the instructions that Baker's sends with their kit? Any information would be helpful, Thanks

65 tail lights are on but the headlight switch is not on!!!
The steering column may have something to do with it. I replaced the upper bearing bushing two years ago in my 65 conv., along with the lower steering column bushing. When i took off the turn signal I seperated the two pieces. I put them back together using a retainer. It worked fine. THis year I ha...

I replaced the p/s filter 2 years ago on my 65 conv. To the best of my recolection the spring is compressed by the platewith the lock washer holder everthing flat and tight. It was quite difficult trying to press the plate down far enough but I was able to do it.

I was able to go to Terminal Supply yesterday to see the fabric loom. It is the real ting. They did not have 3/16. They did have 1/4. I bougt a roll of it and a small amount of 5/16. I redid the four wire harness that connects the a/c idle to the back of the carb, the oil pressure, the water temp an...

how do you pull the steering column on 65 cont. ?
I changed the rag joint/flexible coupling on my 65 convertible last week. You do not need to pull out the whole steering column. You do need to pull out the steering shaft 3 or 4 inches. You will need a 12 point 7/16 socket to remove the bolts on the ragjoint attaching to the steering box and on the...

I live about 2 miles from Terminal Supply. I called this morning. They do stock fabric loom in the following sizes. All are inch, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 3/4, 1. The 3/16 is $40.00 for 100 feet. It took a little while to get the price so I didn't get the prices for the rest of the size...

Transmission Filter
Maybe Dan White can help with this question. I have read that a trans filter is not available for a 1965 Lincoln. At the local parts store the Motorcraft book lists a filter for the 1965. It is FT37A. It lists the same filter for a few years into the 70's. Is this filter available from Motorcraft? D...

I don't know. Bakers indicated that the steering column needed to be removed. Joe Z from the west side of the state indicated the same thing. I am not sure if your car has one. I have only heard about the bushing going bad on the 64-65.
