Engine Paint

I am painting my engine gloss black. I would like to brush paint some of the parts. I know about POR 15. Has anybody had success with something else that is readily available. I did a search and nothing came up. Thanks for any help.

Jim,

Pull the buckle all the way to the end that attaches to the car. Spray the belt with simple green full strength. Scrub with a scrub brush. Rinse with plenty of water. Repeat if necessary. Let them dry. Mine came out close to new. It did not tak out any rust spots.

Replacement Tires for 67 LCC

I went to Wal Mart for my 65. Good Year 235/75 15 $350.00 for 5 mounted and balanced. Road hazard, rotation, balance for life. For 67 you don't need to worry about the wheel cover. They grab the wheel deeper than the 64/65.

Convertible top Installation

Well I decided to bite the bullet and get a new top installed on my 65 conv. A member of our Michigan region had a top installed on his 67 from the installer that did my interior 3 years ago. He did a good job on the interior and I have been trying to decide if I should have him install the top. He ...

Trunk Lining

I used ice and snow shield for roofs. I saw workers puting on a roof and asked if they had any. I got 15 running feet of it. They wouldn't take any money but I forced them to take $5.00. It is sticky on tone side, just peel of paper. You can buy it at Home depot but it comes in 100 foot roles.

is it my fuel pump?

I agree with the previous posts. I had a similar problem with my 65 convertible. The problem was the fuel pumps push rod. You must take the fuel pump off. Put a socket extension through the hole up to the knock out. Tap the knock out lightly. Pull out the push rod. It should measure 4 7/8". A new on...

65 D/S button

It might be for an back up electric fuel pump. Trace the fuel lines back from the fuel pump on the engine. The car may have had a vapor lock problem.

1965 radio

I have a 65 convertible. It came with the standard AM radio. I replaced it with a 65 NOS AM/FM. The two radios are exactly the same size. It looks like it came from the factory with the AM/FM.

"Polar Bear" Towncar

I remember that there was a Jack Nickalas edition of the town car. He is also known as the bear. Could that have something to do with it?

cost of a paint job

Doug, What about that fellow from Maxey Lincoln Mercury that you introduced me to at the Edsel Ford show a couple of years ago. Didn't he say he had a painter in Canada with a very fair price?
