Re: 1972 Continental

Just wanna post a quick update here. Still alive and somewhat kicking. I can add a heart attack to the list of medical issues. Im as messed up as Black Jack is. Im ok, but no projects being done now. Still have all the cars, (added a few, the last being a beautiful Grand Marquis that I restored, and...

Re: Should I become an auto technician?

So my wife and I own a small car dealership... I appreciate the reply. It has been a while. So, what happened in the end. I wanted to start off easy, and give my back a chance to get used to working full time. I decided, the parts department, and when they had a slot open, Id go over to service (I ...

Re: current price range of 1961-1963 Lincoln Continental- sedans and verts

As a car dealer I do this for a living so I would like to weigh in on this topic regarding classic car values. By definition classic cars are anything older then 25 years of age meaning rust and the crusher have taken the large majority of them... Late to this reply but Ive been working on this par...

Re: Door Jamb Rust (Around Dome Light Switch)

How did it work out? It didn't...not yet, anyway. I had other things to deal with, so I haven't yet gotten around to searching for that tool. I will, eventually. ---Tony No issues man. Been that way with me, and health. Last week I had a heart attack so all my projects and jobs are on hold indefini...

Re: Should I become an auto technician?

So, to close this chapter out. I decided that I didnt want to work for any of the local dealerships. Between terrible pay, and one that claimed I was "overqualified" mean could mean too old or too....whatever, its best to focus on other ventures. Which does mean, the last thing to hold me ...

Re: 1973 Lincoln Temperature Sending Unit

I was curious and may get that Amazon switch since its bad on my 73 too...My oil sender is bad too but I think I have those. Its what happens when the car goes into hibernation mode lol. I need a bigger garage...

Re: current price range of 1961-1963 Lincoln Continental- sedans and verts

Thats an interesting point, Wayne. I have seen cars all over the place in the collector range, from 2k to 20k (for the non super collectible types). I do know used cars are coming down hard and fast, but its not seen as much due to inflation and insane interest rates (up to 15%...dont ask how I know...

I resurfaced lol...

Yeah, cameras dont make the colors look right. Its how I found out about the color changes in 73. Tabacco Brown in 72 doesnt exist in 73..and are not the same shade of brown.

Re: Door Jamb Rust (Around Dome Light Switch)

My guess is you are a full time auto tech... I used to be one. Worked on aircraft, then diesel, then cars...although now, its weird. I was thinking of returning to work (been disabled for some time) but they dont want to pay a decent rate. Literally minimum wage. I do better at home lol. Alt...

Re: current price range of 1961-1963 Lincoln Continental- sedans and verts

Looks like I need to go way up... like double. Wow! Thanks for all the info, everyone. Yes. I have my non vert, non-even the same decade 72 insured for 25k. Between rarity for replacement (mostly to avoid totalling out the car for something minor or cosmetic) and inflation valuation will go up. BUT...

That is one rare color combo. I suspect that it looked a lot like pickup truck vinyl? I thought DZ (Tabacco) was tough but thinking of this, yeah, early 70s in gray, I cant say Ive seen one in at least 40 years, if not ever.

Are you looking to buy one with that interior color?

Re: How difficult is it to change the power window gear in the door window of a 1973 Lincoln coupe?

Im late to this party but I just want to chime in on the drilling. Most cars by now will have had the motors replaced, so you will see the hole drilled through the door to get to that last rivet. I did it on both my 72 and 73. I think on the back you dont have to since there was more room, but dont ...

Re: Registration Rule to reduce spammers and bots

A channel on you tube is just creating an account, like here. Then you can comment. ‘I have a channel. It has nearly nothing on it. Making videos is hard. Editing is hard. I’d rather post text and a few pics. Too true. And it pained me that when I did some Lincoln vids, it just didnt get enough tra...

Re: Door Jamb Rust (Around Dome Light Switch)

Well, I have a long wire tie which I use to ponytail the hairs back when it's too windy. I don't know where that short may be, honestly; but it's something I've lived with most of the time I had Frankenstein. At first I thought that maybe the extra door lights I installed on the back doors we...
