Re: Vacuum hose issues
Stu, have your man check those little motors on the passenger side of the cowl, they, (and the multitude of colored hoses) was the reason I had no heat or defrost. What a complicated system for a simple procedure! Wayne

Re: What's your most IMPORTANT thing in your tool box?
Good point about customizing a wrench. I once put an 8MM wrench in a vise and hammered it into the shape I needed. I bought Craftsman tools, even as I aged, because I was more concerned about hurting my hand than preserving a tool. A craftsman tool was far less likely to fail and hurt my hand. I dro...

Re: brake fluid compatibility
Maybe he's making something that uses brake fluid but doesn't have anything to do with brakes. Otherwise, I am afraid to ask. Wayne

Re: What's your most IMPORTANT thing in your tool box?
Snap-On kept mechanics in debt, because they came around to shops in sales trucks. Fathers no longer work on their own cars, because they are too confusing, (the cars, that is) and the Hayne's manuals have never been any good. The instructions always begin, "Disconnect the negative battery cabl...

Re: 1967 Lincoln Continental stalling when warm
I've heard that if you can't fix it with a hammer, then it's probably an electrical problem. Wayne

Re: What's your most IMPORTANT thing in your tool box?
I'm heartbroken, too. Most of my tools are Craftsman, straight from the catalogue. I bought a few from Harbor Freight when they were strictly catalog sales, but we had very little use for them, even though they were surprisingly cheap, because they were made from bubble gum steel, and sometimes bent...

Re: 1963 OEM Sway Bar Bushings
Hi Tony, I know you hate to do this, but years ago I took my control arm bushings to the local tire store, and they had a C shaped thing that they put the bushings in with. Took them about ten minutes. I brought them home, control arms and all, and put them in with help from my brother. Wayne

Re: Road Trip Vintage Finds
It's OK to play with the 62. I can't find the radio antenna and the headlights look odd to me. But with those changes, the sun/moon roof looks OK to me. No way I'd do it to mine, though. Well, I guess the antenna's there, after all. It's hiding. Sort of shadowy, there in the back, right where it's s...

Re: What's your most IMPORTANT thing in your tool box?
Tony, is your wrench a gear wrench thing, or am I imagining something else? Is it a buggered 3/8 nut that 10MM works on pretty good, or is it the other way around? Wayne

Re: Road Trip Vintage Finds
Nice Lincolns, Tony. Good opportunity. The 62, of course, is my fave, but I really like the Givenchy. Back in the day I called the unfiltered variety "spitters". In fact, yesterday I saw and older gentleman who used to loan them to me. If you ever need the green stuff, there are 7-10 store...

My brother has one of those! He collects KR Wilson anything, but he's had several 38 and 39 Zephyrs. He's working on a 55 Cosmo, now. He talks like an encyclopedia when it comes to V-12s. He's busy having Gall bladder trouble now.
