Re: Head Lamps not working 68

Randomly tripping headlights are as annoying to others, as they are to you. Try it on a curvy country road at night while driving 55 mph and you have 20 miles to go. Diagnosing unknowns on the side of the road in the dark. Not fun! Once I realized it was the brights causing the overload, just ran d...

Re: Head Lamps not working 68

Just thinking out loud. If it is the highs then shouldn't the lows work fine? If I disconnect the highs all together then I shouldn't have this issue right? Not saying that's the long term fix, the relay is, but it would be a process of elimination. Dont have to disconnect the highs, just dont acti...

Re: Head Lamps not working 68

I did, but the lows would work fine and it would only trip when the highs were turned on. Now neither are coming on. What's the solution if the internal breaker is tripped? I think what would happen is the highs would cause the fuse to blow (remember after market wiring and fuse box) and the fuse w...

Re: Head Lamps not working 68

Did you replace your headlamps with halogens? They will draw more current and can trip the internal breaker on the headlight switch. I installed a plug and play relay harness on my '63 and it fixed the issue. I also have auto dimmer and it still functions fine with the relay harness. here is a link ...

Re: Right hand mirror 1966 Lincoln - ebay auction

I always just saved them in a private Facebook post and then copied and pasted from there. Never had an issue and many of my other posts, which I upload pics the same way, so IDK???

Re: Right hand mirror 1966 Lincoln - ebay auction

I made a remote passenger mirror for my '63 using a donor drivers mirror and repop passenger mirror. I just frankenstein'd the two w/ some ingenuity to make a remote passenger with toggle. My thread is still here on the forum, but all the pictures are now absent from the post. Not sure why, but the ...

Re: Hot air blowing in air duct's

definitely sounds like bad heater control valve or rotted vacuum lines going to it. I had the same issue years ago on my '63 and a new valve fixed the problem. 1963 valve is vacuum = open valve I think Rock Auto has them, but if not I just purchased a non stock one from ebay and it worked fine. Much...

Re: Interior color help 1963

My '63 is Pearl honey beige crinkle leather with gold metallic trim. It's a "84" interior code.

Here is a link to old post w/ factory VIN codes https://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=23880

If you had the vacuum release, one could always chew the vacuum line, in the trunk, in two and suck on the hose to actuate the popper to open the trunk! :smt033

Yes. I have both of them, it appears one has worked it's way out and after posting pic, I found it laying in my trunk floor. All good!

Re: 1961-63 remote trunk release

I'd like to see a picture of the installed mechanism on the trunk side if someone has that. The vacuum popper mounts onto a factory cover plate that is present already on all trunk lids. It is just to the left of the latch mechanism on the inside of the lid. Two bolts hold it in place and the braid...
