LubingWindow mechanisms

What do you use to lubricate the window tracks etc. inside the door panels. My windows are real sticky/jerky. All motors and switches work but are under a bad strain trying to overcome the sticky tracks.
Thx....Jack

Re: Replace your brake hoses!

After reading this thread about old rubber brake hoses and considering mine are 53 yrs. old I ordered all new ones yesterday.
The old ones did the job several days ago when a car load of morons ran a red light when I was just entering the intersection.

VIN numbers

My 1959 Linc. Premier has the VN on the door post tag as well as stamped into the rear edge of the trunk lip on the right side. They all match. What confounds me is that there is another VN next to the trunk edge number that is different and "X'ed" out with a stamp. Like they put the wrong...

Re: 59 Lincoln motor mounts

After a quick check.......the power steering is engine driven, no belts so that would mean the 59/60 mounts are needed.

Again.....where to buy them????

Re: 59 Lincoln motor mounts

Mikem..........

Thanks for the info. Car build date is June 1959. I drove the car about 50 miles this weekend and the motor seems to want to jump out of the car. Needs fixing soon.

59 Lincoln motor mounts

I was told when searching for motor mounts for my Linc. that there were two types for that year. Is that correct?? Was there a cut-off date where they switched from one to another???
Where are sources for motor mounts??

Re: 59 Power windows

Well I have been away for 5 yrs. but back again. The power windows on my 59 are still not working well (what??? they did not fix themselves???). I also see that the thread on finding new couplers kind of died also. Has anyone found an alternative for the worn out couplers in 59 windows.???? I will p...

Build sheets

We just found two build sheets under our back seat when we removed it for installing seat belts.
They look just like the picture at the beginning of this thread including the rusty spring marks.

Air intake corrigated duct

For a 1959 Linc. Premier 430.......looking for the corrigated oval duct between the engine air cleaner "shnozzle" and the fenderwell.
Ours is there but looks pretty fragile.

Thanks for any help.

Chris, You have a dynamite car in excellent condition. Ours is in good condition but not nearly like yours. We have a few small "body warts" that need tending to but it would require painting the entire car below the windows. I have been told that an original in excellent condition, even w...

Thanks John for getting the numbers. Had to pull the cover off again didn't you. John is my son and he and I purchased the car 3 years ago to use in his wedding. We still have it and are slowly improving it. We put wide white Coker radial tires on it last week. We store it in his garage in Eagle riv...

Walter,
My car is 20 miles from here so can not get the numbers until Thur.
The Vin No. I gave is also the same one that is hammered into the body at the trunk lid edge.

I will attempt to find out about the 59 Cont. limo.
