Town Car L production numbers?

Anyone know the production numbers for the extended 'L' body from 2000-2011?

I'm especially interested in the personal use L's (Cartier, Ultimate, and Signature) vs. the fleet Executive L's.

Sorry, but I couldn't see any reference in the shop manual to those other numbers.

Re: 1956 Body Tag Breakdown??

John,

A few of your numbers coincide with the 1956 shop manual.

76B = Premiere convertible

23 = Starmist White

608 = Starmist White & Huntsman Red Leather

Re: 1966 steering over-reacts -- problem solved

One behavior I didn't note was: Highway speed, windshield wipers 'on', steering wheel would almost completely lock up -- couldn't turn it left. This was highly pronounced once at 70 mph, slight uphill, left curve across an expressway bridge during heavy rain. My car wouldn't track left, as the steer...

Re: Chance to buy 59 Capri Landau - opinions?

I do not believe the car has A/C, Dave. Beneath the hood there is a lack of hardware (compressor, dryer, and hoses running through the fenders to the dual evaporators) and the dash instrumentation has a blank spot on the controller in the lower left quadrant of the dial where A/C settings would be. ...

Re: Chance to buy 59 Capri Landau - opinions?

Having done a nut & bolt restoration of a '59 convertible and '59 Formal Sedan, parts are available, but costs add up quickly. You could have any glass shop cut a piece for the exterior mirror, but windshields cost $1,000. Bumpers and trim can be re-chromed, of course. If you're handy, it could ...

Re: Rock Auto Steering Box Rebuild Service

While not an exact match to your question, I've purchased rebuilt steering gear from Advance Auto Parts (on a core exchange basis) for my three '66 Continentals and have been satisfied with their units -- all rebuilt by Lares. Advance had a better price than its competitors. I had Rock Auto handle t...

Re: 1966 steering over-reacts -- problem solved

Here we are a year later. Recently, a Lincoln enthusiast from Pennsylvania was chatting with me about this phenomenon and suggested there may be air in the power steering system. He suggested an approach and here is what I did: Pulled the dip stick from the power steering pump reservoir Raise the fr...

Re: Passing of Gregg Engelhardt

I was very fortunate to be included in Gregg's circle of friends (all wonderful people) in recent years and enjoyed daily emails and frequent phone conversations with him. He was a veritable encyclopedia of Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln knowledge and he often surprised me with little known dates when F...

Re: Any love in here for the Versailles?

Nice car, especially with the moon roof. Congratulations! My Mom bought a 1977 Versailles new and it was a quiet, classy vehicle that fit her because she's a petite woman. Hers was cinnamon gold metallic (paint code 5K), matching roof, and chamois Dorchester cloth interior (like your car, but cloth)...
