Hey everybody. I just recently found a 1950 Lincoln at a salvage yard and picked it up for only $1000. In my mind it was a real steal. steering gear mounting question

I replaced the three mounting pads in my 65 about 3 or 4 years ago. What I cant remember is if the pads screwed into the gear and then bolts came through the body to screw into the other side of tha pad or if the pads had bolts that went through them into the gear. Thanks alan I have a service manual and lots of experince. However, I find that the manual is less than compleete or even helpfull at times. Steering wheel stuck!

Something in the steering column has broken and is causing the shift linkage to interfear with the movement of the steering wheel. I am about to start to tear down teh steering column but since all my tools are locked in my box at work I dont know how far into the column I will be able to get today....
