Re: Heater noise

If the automatic temperature works, it is normal.
These cars weren’t silent or perfect. They use crude analog electronics and often make small sounds.

I would not touch anything or take anything apart. Turn up the radio and ignore it. You’re more likely to break something.

Re: 1979 Lincoln Continental CS, Engine problems, Plz help

EGR and air pump only, really. The rest was just vacuum control such as timing delay valves, TVS-controlled cold air intake, Vacuum delay valves to the carb, and a few other I forget. Don’t forget the 79s had only the 400 two-barrel and was the weakest it would ever be. My 77 was the only 400 worth ...

Re: 1973 C6 inaccurate shifting - fluid related?

The vacuum modulator has a vacuum line attached to it. It is at the back right side of the transmission, visible from below if you crawl partway under the car. If you pull the line and fluid comes out, the modulator is bad and needs to be replaced. The line may also be cracked or rotted, It is a sho...

Re: 1979 Lincoln Continental CS, Engine problems, Plz help

They’re both there. It’s symmetrical. I am also scared that your friend reran the vacuum lines without bypassing or messing something up. These cars are notorious for the high amount of spiderwebbed vacuum lines for all of the various emissions and control systems. Everything had a purpose. But the ...

Now he has touched the fast idle cam settings, the choke cap, idle screw and one air/gas mixture screw on passenger side because he could not find the driver side mixture screw.

On YouTube, there’s a channel called Just Rolled In and it is filled with crazy DIY repairs that are things like spray foam for frame repair, rubber tubing for brake lines, and tie-wraps for ball joints.

Re: Lincolns and typical value

I'm new here. I've spent the last few decades involved in the world of vintage Land Cruisers. I've owned and sold so many of them that these days I spend most of my time providing consignment services for these great old 4x4's. However it's not unusual for customers to ask me to sell other collecti...

462 short block for rebuild

Free. Pickup only. Metro Detroit area. Comes with some head bolts. Can hoist into your truck.

One piston stuck inside. No crank. No camshaft. I might have the bearing caps but I’m not looking unless someone wants it.
