Ford Lincoln Mercury window stickers

You can find later model (doesn't go back to my 87 Mustand) window stickers at this site. Got the window sticker for my (bought used with 2,400 miles) 2008 Sable.

Re: Looking at a couple '77 Town Cars

Good choice- I like the color combo and the one owner low miles. Too bad about the vandalism. We'll all want to see many pics when you pick up the car!

Re: Mileage Challenge 2013

Driving the 62 sedan mostly this summer (convertible undergoing various repairs), 346 miles since April- Motor Muster, Downriver Cruise, Woodward -several days during the week, Hines Drive Cruise, and various errands. Also drove the 87 Mustang 396 miles since getting it in late June. Only have drive...

Re: Vintage Clothing to wear with your Lincoln

I do wear french cuff shirts with my white tie and tails - work clothes for night time Detroit Symphony concerts. Never with suits for daytime concerts- nor do any of the other men in the DSO to my knowledge.

Re: Does this look Conti stock height from the factory?

Yes it will sit/look better with bias ply tires, but based on my experience with my 62 sedan and convertible you should put new springs on the rear- it will ride a lot better than just re-arching the springs. I still have the Coker radials on my sedan, and with the new springs, the rear sits up prop...

Re: Vintage Clothing to wear with your Lincoln

Dan, for your newly svelte figure, definitely go for single breasted suits, in various shades of blue and grey, along with black. Casual nights out can include a nice houndstooth sport coat, along with a white shirt, tie and dress slacks. Hats were really going out of style and usage in the later 60...

Re: Vintage Clothing to wear with your Lincoln

Don't forget pullover sweaters, too. Solid colors, wool. Has anyone been watching the coverage of the 50th anniversary of the march on Washington? Lots of examples of what people were wearing on August 18, 1963. Just about every man was wearing a white shirt. French cuffs would be for the more dress...

Re: Vintage Clothing to wear with your Lincoln

Crisp white shirts, regular cuffs are fine, and no blue jeans unless you're working on a farm! A few chino pants are good for more casual times. (I grew up in the 60's and remember the way we all dressed. It's much different from what is normal now)

Re: Adding cruise control to a Mark III

You should be able to find a nice 69 -71 Mark III with cruise, I can't remember seeing one without it. There are two for sale on the LIncoln Land site, a 69 vinyl roof delete that looks like it has it, for $16,500, and a really nice 71 for $22,000. I would wait and find one that has it and is workin...

Re: 14" bias-ply vs. radials

When I got my convertible 10 years ago it had old worn out bias ply tires. They grabbed every seam in our rotten Michigan roads. I used radials for a few years but then got new 9.50x14 Coker tires and have been very happy with the ride and handling, though they do squeal a bit on low speed sharp tur...
