Re: hungarian Mark IV

Man, that top picture looks like it could've been taken on the set of one of the "Hostel" movies!

Bringing The 64 Back To Life (Again)

3 years ago, my 64 broke down on me on the way to work. I had it towed to the shop, picked it up after work and it limped home, and literally died as I pulled it into the garage. I'm finally getting back to work on her now. Put in a new battery, cleaned the carb, replaced the two deteriorating fuel ...

Re: Looking for a mechanic in Dallas/Fort Worth

Wilson Auto in Garland. http://www.wilsonauto.com I can't personally vouch for them, but I have heard nothing but good things about them. Their website has some pics of classics they have worked on http://www.wilsonauto.com/classic-car-repair/ . The site is different than it was a couple of months a...

Yes, thank you, Bob - I have never seen this procedure written out so succinctly! I'm printing this out now to keep in the garage!

64 Sedan - Should I sell, part out, or.....?

Hello, all... I would like to start off by saying that this site and its' members have been invaluable for a not-so-mechanically-inclined Lincoln owner. I bought my 64 sedan about 4 years ago for $4,000. It was running fine, but needed some major updates. First, I had a new exhaust system put in (fr...

I think the automatic back doors would be awesome....and that new RR is my second favorite car now.

Is that something you would have to cut up the door to do, or would all the mechanics be in the door jamb?

Carpeting Advice - '64 Sedan

Thanks, guys.... How is the sound deadener and insulation sold? Do you buy it by the square yard, and cut it like the carpet? There is a layer of stuff underneath my carpet that looks like it was, at one time, hard. Now it breaks with the slightest pressure between my fingers. Did this used to be th...

Carpeting Advice - '64 Sedan

I've done a ton of searches on this subject, but I still want to get some advice about carpeting. I get the impression that Baker's carpet sets are not impressive, to say the least. And for the price they are charging, they should be. I've read that some have been happy with Kanter's set, which is a...

vandles!!

We have (virtually) the same laws in TX, but I live in a dowtown loft (not MY private property) about 200 yards from where every bum in town stays. My car was broken into a couple of months ago, along with 10 others in our 3 story garage, but luckily, they were "nice" enough to just break ...

Power Windows 64 Sedan

Actually, when I first got the car, an electrically inclined friend of mine took apart all the switches to see how they worked and cleaned all of them up. That was over a year ago. I also went to NAPA at lunch and got some new bulbs for the courtesy lights, but they're still not working. Do the litt...

Power Windows 64 Sedan

Thanks for the tip! I went back out to my car, and tried the passenger front window again, and it IS making the same noise as the other one (the faint "click").
I guess I'll have to take the metal frame off and check it out in more detail...

Power Windows 64 Sedan

I know this general topic has been covered a million times, but I couldn't find an answer using "Search"..... When I bought my car, all windows worked from master switch and individual window swtiches. Then the rear driver and front passeenger windows quit working. Later the rear passenger...

64 Brake Help, Please!

Well, thank you everyone for your input! The problem was inferior brake pads. They replaced them with "FE" grade, and they work great now! In the past year, I've rebuilt the engine, carb, front-end suspension, and (now) brakes, and it drives just as good as a '65 Lincoln! Maybe even a '66!...

64 Brake Help, Please!

Thanks for the tip, Erich! Where exactly is that? I kind of know where Haltom City is (close to Ft.Worth, by Weatherford?).
