i got my valve cover gaskets at o'reilly for about nine bux.

looks kinda like the sheild that goes underneath on the right front side for the alternator.

yep. (solid) pushrods. cleaned them up with gasoline along with the shaft. i think the oil pump is shot, clogged or both. i am going to try some kind of "flush" for the oil system, but i'm not too optimistic. just a last resort before i start on the "frontal lobotomy" either this...

thank you both for your replies. there is almost no oil to speak of. needless to say i wont be driving her now, untill i can get some flow going up there. i am also wondering about my oil pump. it holds good pressure until it warms up, then hangs around the bottom third (highway), to bottom quarter ...
