Re: Fuel Filter Options?
Bpepper,
What is the reference to the John Deere filter? What is the model# etc. of this filter that is an exact fit for a 1966?

Re: Turn signal relay
I have a 66. I attached the schematic. It shows two separate relays in the diagram. One with 3 wires and the other with 4. I did replace one. I don't know what your issue is that your experiencing. I replaced all my dashboard lamps with LED including the turn signal bulbs with LED and the bumper mou...

Re: 1966 Brake pad retainer replacement
The T-bird retainers arrived this morning. The reproduction T-bird splash shield/pad retainers are identical to the OEM Lincoln part. Mine is 66. I Bought these on Amazon. Ships from AutoKrafters, Shipping was quick too. Ecklers told me the don't carry them (Stock them).

Re: Automatic parking brake release
I’m up for the challenge. The shifter sag is minimal. I am not worried about it slipping into reverse. The lever holds firm in park and must be pulled words the driver to come out of park. I have a few other repairs I need to to get to before I open this “Pandoras box”
Thanks Dan!
Thanks Dan!

Re: Automatic parking brake release
Dans question: “I dont know what the second sentence means by IF NOT. If not what? If not running? If not holding while running? If not you hold the shifter up to the left? Please define the conditions of all the above that requires multiply “stabbing” (pushing?) the parking brake pedal 10x to set i...

Re: Diamond Back Radial Tires
Mine are 1 inch. I believe that’s what the authenticity manual said they came with from the factory. Side note: If you haven’t replaced your rubber steering gear box mounts. You will want to get the solid spacers. That will solve some of the wandering in the steering wheel. I got mine from John Brew...

Re: Diamond Back Radial Tires
I have the DB Auburn on my 1966. They are nice tires. No complaints after 700 miles. I had 11 year old Cokers on it when I bought it. It now rides nice and smooth and handles well going into cloverleafs etc.

Re: Automatic parking brake release
I would like to clear up some confusion, that I experienced with this thread. When reading this thread an reading the shop manual, I learned there are two different parts that are referenced in this post. I can only reference 1966, but here is something that must be realized. For 1966: Neutral (Star...

Re: 1966 Brake pad retainer replacement
The "simple" clips I received from Rock Auto wont work. When installed, there is 3/16 gap between the clip and the pads. It's hard to see in the photo but the clip is not holding them down. The clip rubs on the piston boot as well. Cutting bending them will not make them work. I will use a...

Re: 1966 Brake pad retainer replacement
Lithiumcobalt Where did you get that part number? The middle number in my 1966 MPC lists the number as 2B127. The one you supplied is 2D127. Is that from a 1965? As I under stand it, the prefix always states the year- yours is C5SZ? I Assume a 65 would be the same as 66. I am over thinking this. Doe...

1966 Brake pad retainer/Splash Shield replacement
I need to replace the retainers . Who has sourced these? Rock auto has an aftermarket design for $2.74. The reproductions are $50 or more if they are actually available. C5ZZ-2B127-A is a part number for a 65-66 Mustang reproduction. My 1966 Lincoln MPC has the 2B127. Not sure if the Mustang part wi...

Re: 1966 Top Pump Check valve mounting bracket orientation
My car has always had Type F for the top up circuit. The deck lid system has what looks to be brake fluid. I have never done any maintenance on that circuit- if it ain't broke don't fix it on these cars. I thought by 66 they had switched to Type F for both. Mine is an early 66 (3/66). They might hav...
