1969 Sedan blinker/hazard issue.
1969 Continental sedan. Turn signals went out, so I swapped the flasher and hazard relay. Same issue. Turn signals will not work but the hazards do. All fuses are good. I'm out of town with the car and away from all my tools. What should I try to check?

Re: Multiple electrical issues: Windows and ATC
I followed the instructions for testing the fan and the issue was not resolved. Then the next morning I pressed the fan switch and it started going again. Very weird. Isn't it nice to have a Lincoln that fixes itself? I'm not sure if the ATC brain is on the frritz or if it was a bad ground now.

Re: Multiple electrical issues: Windows and ATC
I've cleaned up the corrosion and used electrical tape to hold the broken spade connector together until I can find another plug . Still no fan. What's the correct procedure to test the resistor pack? Putting an ammeter in series with each connector? If there is no signal going to the resistor pack ...

Re: Multiple electrical issues: Windows and ATC
I've removed the resistor pack and it appears intact. I'm not sure what the resistance rating is supposed to be but they don't appear to be broken. Thee bigger issue it seems is the plug itself and the female connectors on rhe outside of the resistor cluster. The plug is broken and one of the spade ...

Re: Hollandaises' 1969 Sedan
Thanks. Ended up ordering springs and bushings from the local supplier. They're actually a little more expensive than buying them from the USA (thank our horribly uncompetitive economy) but less hassle and no risk of getting slammed with duties. I had done a little investigation into air suspension ...

Re: Multilink with coils for later air ride
That's a fair point. Mercedes-Benz and Citroen produced reliable non-conventional suspensions in large numbers during the 1960s, but these were relatively small and light cars that didn't have the advantage of weight to produce a good ride. I am not concerned about the lifespan of the bags. As far a...

Multilink with coils for later air ride
My 69 sedan needs the rear suspension totally redone. Since I have to replace everything now may be a good time to set the car up for air ride later. What are your thoughts on installing a four link kit and running the car on coils for the time being? How would the ride quality and handling compare ...

Re: Hollandaises' 1969 Sedan
There's a reputable spring shop in my city I'll use for leafs. The fronts are saggy and have a bunch of spring boosters in them. What about the rear spring bushings?

Re: Hollandaises' 1969 Sedan
Next project will be new rear springs and bushings. Does anyone know if there is an interchange on these parts I can get locally?

Re: Multiple electrical issues: Windows and ATC
Update: I have not yet had time to diagnose the ATC issue, but I have ordered a new window safety relay since I often get hit with big customs/brokerage fees buying from the usual suspects. My old one looks very nice and clean and should be a fine core for a rebuild. If anyone wants the old relay th...

Multiple electrical issues: Windows and ATC
Car is a 1969 Continental Sedan. I just started up my car and heard a faint pop. Immediately after my ATC control panel is no longer functional. I had previously disconnected the compressor due to being locked up. Now the fans won't even turn on. Previously, the ATC module itself had been completely...

Re: 1969 8-track belt keeps falling off
This is a "new" (old) belt off ebay. Do you know anyone who sells the correct belt?

Re: 1969 8-track belt keeps falling off
The belt has some tension but is not particularly tight. It also feels somewhat old, though never having opened up a 8-track before I'm not sure what is normal.

Re: 1969 8-track belt keeps falling off
The replacement belt is smooth, as was the original belt that had snapped. Both pulleys are smooth, though the small drive pulley does have a large retaining flange on it. It appears nearly identical to the one posted by action above. When the player is run with the cover off, the belt is centered o...

1969 8-track belt keeps falling off
The replacement belt on my 8-track player keeps falling off. Does anyone know where to source a correct belt, or is there a mechanical misalignment in the player that would require the unit to be rebuilt? Each time it's happened during driving and while the car is coming to a stop, which could just ...
