Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Rubber nipple is brand new on mine. Only thought I have is perhaps the nipple size is too large and is getting a good seal, except for WOT. I would have thought that it's tight enough but it's an easy test.

Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

I do. I've got the PCV system connected via the spacer below the carb, not to the carb itself.

Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Ok, still a bit of work to be done but I did get everything on and working. One small hiccup, when I manually activate the throttle linkage the carb makes a terrible screeching noise about 3/4 and above throttle, but not all the time, only intermitently. I assume this is either a gasket/vacuum issue...

Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Well, long story short, ever project seems to be a multi-day endeavor. Napa had line but only pre-flared setups, so I had to buy a pre-flared setup and make a multi-connection setup to get it connected with flex hose to connect to the fuel inlet. Additionally, the only place that actually carries a ...

Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Dan, interesting to see that port and where it leads. I wonder why that exists. As for swapping the fuel inlet, I've confirmed that you can swap the sides, which makes sense since Edelbrock sells a duel inlet kit (see here ). I swapped sides if nothing else to keep it "original" and to see...

Re: Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Dan, I had noticed that they added the ability to change the side the fuel line comes in on. I'll be swapping that shortly since by default it's on the pass side as discussed at length. That's an interesting piece and good to know. Sounds like I can just leave the manifold then and be good to go sin...

Edelbrock 1906 for 462

Hey all, I know this has been beaten to death with reference to the 1406 and the 1906 is basically an updated version however I've got a few quick questions I'm hoping to get answered as I've got a bit of a tricky beast here. 20210522_201934.jpg So the drivers side of the new carb has the same setup...

Re: 1966 Tilt column and steering rebuild

Oh this thing is beyond a rats nest anyway. I need to pull the dash again and strip all the wiring but that's prob gonna happen in 2 years.

Re: 1966 Tilt column and steering rebuild

Haven't had much time to work on it for the past little bit. It looks like the vacuum is bypassed or something. I found a small metal lever that I'm able to actuate forward and back, I can hear a bellow as I move the lever. Pulling it one direction seems to let the parking brake engage and the rever...

Re: 1966 Tilt column and steering rebuild

Well the good news is that I found out my parking brake doesn't lock into position. Time to take that apart and see what's up there.

Re: 1967 Lincoln tilt column rebuild

Well, figured I'd update. Nick, I'm sorry that I've sort of hijacked this thread. I created a new thread so that I can post updates to my progress. Sorry for crashing the party!

1966 Tilt column and steering rebuild

My 66 is a pretty massive project, but I'm eager to get it on the road. My first set of tasks is to get her running, driving and somewhat "working" before I start a full teardown and resto/rebuild. To that end I needed to get the blinkers working which meant rebuilding the turn signal swit...

Re: Finding the correct screws

Dan, agreed. It was Sunday so that was all that was open and I really wanted to get her on the road today. (which I did!) There is an ACE 20 mins from me in case the local hardware shop doesn't have what I need.

Re: Finding the correct screws

I would say that Dan's guess of the specs is accurate. You know where I sourced my own replacements of those screws...? Waters True Value in Junction City, which is my first go-to for any screw I need to replace. Any hardware store that sells fasteners in bulk will have at least 95% of all the scre...

Re: Finding the correct screws

Page 185 (of the catalog, not PDF), says that 53027-S is on page 79. So I know they have something that crosses to it. Here's the link to download the bulk catalog: https://www.amkproducts.com/catalogs/order/pdf-catalog/ Page 79 shows the screw and the Ford PN 53027-S45 that crosses to it. Yeah, it...
