Re: 1961-63 remote trunk release

I think mine has a blank plate there over the hole. Or I saw it in with a bag of parts.

Re: Runaway heat, hard starting, rough idle and etc

If you missed a paper towel you might have found part of the problem. It won't disintegrate. If it breaks down it turns to mush like wet toilet paper and drops further in or moves thru the cooling system.
When you get off throttle does the rad fill back up to normal level quickly?

Re: Engine Drama Continued (From Sluggish Starting Issue)

You'd think the machinist or whoever else is working on the engine would be able to tell if the crack is going to be an issue or not.
It's probably worth it to start looking for another engine to rebuild and avoid any future problems.

Re: Engine Still Stalling!

I have a 1969 Mark III. I will read all of these posts very carefully. I have almost the exact same problem. My mechanic has rebuilt the carb and replaced the fuel pump. He opened the air cleaner door. My car will start and run for 15 minutes, but when it gets hot it shuts off. I also suspect that ...

Re: Engine Still Stalling!

May be it's something in the tank clogging the strainer or gunk somewhere else causing it to starve of gas? I've got the same problem with one of my vehicles. Sometimes you can start it quick and it'll sit there and the bad drive perfectly. Then it stalls and refuses to restart. Sometimes it starts ...

Re: Engine Still Stalling!

I'm guessing (or still guessing) a carb or choke problem but re reading your old post did you change those lines yet? That post seem to indicate its a fuel delivery problem.

Re: Hard pedal, almost no brakes 68 continental

You can try disconnecting the lines directly at the master cylinder to bench bleed it in the car. That'll rule out the booster and everything up to the proportioning valve.

What's the history on the car? Did it sit for years before you got into the brakes it was the problem sudden?

Re: Monitor coolant temp, no factory gauge?

They do say 50/50 is the optimum base point and to go to a different ratio if outside temps are much colder then that. But even beyond -35 it's not freezing coolant that's the problem it's the other fluids getting thick in that cold. I also didn't see any reference in the manual for when the light c...

Re: 1982 Continental Signature Series at auction

The same can can be said about Lincoln's of the same period that they're gussied up Ford's. They were all playing that game. The 90s imperial has different interior then dynasty, different front and rear even different wheel base. But there's no arguing it's the same basic body. Like Iacocca or not ...

Re: hood Release Cable Fail

I'm.going to set something up for mine. The risk of a near 60 year old cable breaking is why my hood is rarely latched when the car is sitting around not being driven.

I don't agree with your assessment of the 1960s models but I'm with you on that. The hump back Cadillac wasn't any better.

Re: 1963 LCC For Sale

Having everything removed already is a bad thing, not good. That's a huge risk on the buyer that everything us there and not knowing how it goes back together again. Its cheaper to pay someone to take it apart or do it yourself then have to replace who knows what. For that kind of money the seller r...

Re: Checking out a '69 Post

I'm not seeing $20k for that car. Needs outside work, Need a interior work, doesn't even look like it has a carpet. For that price I'd expect something that needs very minor stuff to be perfect. Not a project car.

Re: 1990 Town Car rear passenger window regulator & motor

The split window was around until the body change in 95. The regulator is the same for 90-92 and looks like it might have switched part way thru 93.
