Re: Head light pop up on they own???

Yes. Your problem is you have a leak. It's a safety thing that they open on their own if it leaks.

Re: Power steering dipstick

The part numbers looked to be the same for the 61-63 whether it was as AC or not.

Re: Head light pop up on they own???

It's a safety thing. You'd have to check the service manual but I think those use vacuum to close them and if there's any leak they'll default to popping open rather then closing in the dark when you need them.

Did you do any adjustments to the carb? They're not a throw on and go part.
But I agree a choke problem is also top of the list.

I haven't seen mention of theirs in a while. I need one for my 63 but will probably patch what I already have in the meantime.

Mustangs were also uni-body. The main difference is that these cars already started with big engines where in reality most Mustangs didn't. Plus they don't need as much power to get the same performance out of them since they're smaller (altho that makes it all the more fun). What makes Mustangs ea...

Re: 62 SlabSide Diesel Swap

It's someone's own money to do whatever they want with. I think there are a lot of old cars that should be left alone and it's sad when you see a car that's a 100 year old survivor-ish being hacked up for new suspension and drivetrain but at the same time if it's a car that there's still a lot of ar...

Re: 1965 Lincoln - Sitting for 37 years-Gas Tank & Fuel Line Questions

It sounds like a fun project. Engine swaps and other work don't have to cost a lot if you're not on a time constraint and doing most of the work yourself and hunting down parts as you go as you've been doing. If you think a 98 Continental is a boat you should try driving a Town Car or an older car lol

Someone stuck one of those blind spot mirrors on it so maybe it has been driven a bit.

Re: Oil dripping out my pcv

Is whsts in the original pic actually a PCV valve? If it's a normal chrome breather attached to the carb that would probably be why it's dripping oil. Unless it's a lot of blowby like Lee said. I've had engines with rock solid grommets that weren't sealing and they wouldn't let that much my.

Sounds like a GM GPS which recently directed me to drive into a transit system and another time through a field in the middle of nowhere.

Re: Oil dripping out my pcv

So a breather it looks like. The description of it is confusing. It's probably worth putting proper as in more stock type parts on it to see if it solves any problems.

Re: Removing Electrical motor windows - Antenna - Radio - Weather Strips

Was that audiovox kit from the 90s? I remember seeing a kit for it but never got one. I was always thinking it shouldn't be hard to get one to work out of an 80s Cadillac Fleetwood/Brougham.
