The hose is there on Rock Auto. Once you enter the car information scroll down to Exhaust & Emissions heading. Scroll to Control Duct Hose, select the appropriate size.

It's there on Rock Auto’s site. Put in your cars information and scroll down to the Emissions & Exhaust section. Look for control duct hose heading. You’ll see two diameters listed.

Re: 460 air cleaner duct

I believe that goes to the charcoal canister for the emission system / fuel tank. Rock Auto shows this hose under 1972 Lincoln, Emission and exhaust. Shows two different sizes, 7/8 and 3/4, both 36” long. Cut to needed length.

Re: Anyone subscribe to Hemmings Classic Car magazine ?

I’ve loaned the Ambassador to the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pa. for 6 months. They’re featuring an “orphan marques” exhibit. The museum is a beautiful facility with some truly fantastic cars. Also, you can’t beat free, clean, climate controlled storage for 6 months !

64, 65 steering wheel trim pieces

The 4 little chrome pieces on the steering wheel rim “hand grip” hand grip area are very loose fitting. I have to assume the wheel rim has shrunken a bit over the years though there is no sign of cracking or warping on the rest of the wheel. It seems to me that some “oversized, slightly wider, trim ...

Re: The next road trip

Have fun, wishing you safe and trouble free travels. Making the trip with the newly rebuilt carb I take it. Hope to see you and many others next month in Hickory Corners. The 65 is almost ready for the trip, just a few more things to attend to.

Seat transmission gear question

I’m about to disassemble the power seat gearbox so the old lubricant, presumably totally dried out, can be cleaned out and relubricated with new grease. There are two white gears for the corner jacks and a red gear for the horizontal jack. I just completed watching Nathan Wilson’s YouTube videos on ...

I know I’m late to the party on this, but that red plate is fiberglass and the component is the hvac blower resistor.

Re: Resonator Hangers

Many of those rubber hangers were cut from the sidewalls old old bias ply tires. Perhaps you have an old trailer or lawn tractor tire laying around or you can stop by a local tire store and pick something up. Cut it to size using a Sabre saw with a metal cutting blade.

Re: Power seat switch question, 1965 Lincoln

Rather then take a chance on damaging the switch I’m sending the switch to John Brewer for refurbishment. I’m having some difficulty getting access to the seat bolts as the carpet is in the way. I may have to wait for the switch to be returned so I can move the seat mechanism to be able to gain acce...

Rob, how did you get the switch apart and back together again ? Were you able to un-crimp and re-crimp the housing ?

Re: 1964 & 1965 Amp meter bypass question

The IVR is only used for the fuel and temp. gauges to regulate the 12 volt battery voltage down to a pulsing 12 volts which equates to a 5 volt or so average. My amp gauge does operate as I would expect it to. It sometimes gets “jumpy” and then corrects itself. I like the idea of having it rebuilt b...
