Re: OFFICIAL THREAD: Gas Prices, your Lincoln, and you

Hi All, Watching the TV "Lincoln Lawyer" series with my wife and he's driving a '63 vert....... or maybe a '62....... not sure. But it inspired me. So last night I went for a midnight ride. Thirty mile loop. It was a warm night and cruising at forty-five on an empty road with the windows d...

Re: 1963 Lincoln inspection card

Jim

Your paint code letter is T which in 1961 was Honey Beige (not sure if they changed it like they did in later years) but from the photo you included, your '63 appears to be that color. Original paint?? Looks great, by the way.

Re: Here we go again!

Great trip reports accompanied by great photos, Stu. And what would a cross country road trip be without a loyal partner by your side and a few mechanical hiccups along the way. Many of us wish we were doing the same thing. Looks like you found the "right" old-timer at the right time - som...

Black '62 Vert on BAT - already at $78,062

Man, big price tag bid for this car with still four days left in the auction. During the crazy period of rapid inflation (and profiteering) that we are now experiencing, our Lincolns are looking like as good a hedge as anything else.

Re: Grinding And Rumbling Under The Car

Wayne is definitely the Tool Man. It seems to me that every car I've ever owned has manifested troubling noises of one kind or another including my current '61 Lincoln. It's last noise turned out to be an almost invisible break in the left, rear exhaust pipe hanger. But that pictured diagnostic tool...

Re: Here we go again!

What this???? NO PICTURES TODAY??? Not even a photo of the desert through the windshield ? Even that would have been enough to feed my habit. C'mon Robin,... Punch him in the shoulder.

Re: Here we go again!

Stu, no way I'm ever gonna get sick of those iconic Route 66 photos, the trip I've always dreamed about. Great adventure, very Stu-like. Guess there's only two horses left in the mileage challenge again this year and since at the moment Tony is troubleshooting some mechanical work - the advantage is...

Re: Here we go again!

Since gas mileage has been mentioned. How far in everyone's opinion, should I be able to drive on a full tank? Thanks, Rick

Re: 2022 Mileage Challenge thread (official)

Fraser, I think you're gonna find a bunch of guys are tied with you for the low mileage total ........ but the tiebreaker in your case is 47 years . Nobody is going to come close to catching you. Tony, congrats on your long haul down to Florida and back again in a slab side. 6,956 miles is a big num...
