Brakes Lock Up
Field, it doesn't sound to me like the brakes were actually "locked up". When I hear "locked up", I think of the wheels being locked and not releasing. I think your problem may be a booster problem. Check out this link on my site: http://www.americanairsuspension.com/BRAKES%20MK%...

AIR SUSPENSION PARTS
Hello, my name is Eddie Spinks and I am the owner Of American Air Suspension. I was a Ford/Lincoln Suspension Certified Technician for over 15 years when I decided to go on my own in '99 and make a better mouse trap. Just to let you know, I sell remanufactured air struts for the '88-'94 Continentals...

Scraping noise from L.F. wheel on '92 Town Car
Has any work been done to the car lately? The backing plate can make this sound. They can look like they are far away at first glance. The rotor has allot more flex in it than most people think.(especially these new junk rotors) Try this: Through the rim, use a long screwdriver and push the backing ...

You may have had more than one problem. Your car has 2 systems wrapped into one. The raising part of the system and the dampening(soft or firm) part of the system.Did your mechanic pull the code this last time? Rather than throwing parts/money at the car, a code will point you in the right direction...

If the car goes down while the switch is ON, and it turns the light on, it should have a code stored in the module. Your mechanic with the "state of the art" scanner will have to pull the code(s) then, BEFORE turning off the ignition. In other words, if the light comes on, you must leave t...

#1 I would first make sure the arm is still attached on both ends of the sensor. If it is, adjust the sensor and notice if its gets lower or it raises the vehicle up. It sounds to me like the system is being "told" its too high, thats why its always venting. #2 Contact the tech department ...

No problem at all M Evans. I know I'm not well known on this site. My usualy hangout is markviii.org but I have worked on all these cars. Your problem at the dealer is a common one. I worked for Ford/Lincoln for 15 years and had my warranty labor(in a dealership, 80% of your work is warranty) cut 3 ...

Yes Paul, it does sound like you have leaking air springs. Do yourself a favor, put NEW FORD air springs on your car and be done with it for another 5 to 10 years. The "New China" springs on the market now are new to the market and nobody really knows how long they'll last. The difference ...

Thank you KULTULZ. BTW, I agree with you 100% on the fact that most of the "Old-Timers" are gone from the dealerships now and the days of a well trained "Fix it right while its under warranty" techs are gone for good. I say this because I was one of the techs that trained and tra...

The hydraulic brake booster on a late model Mark VII and early Continentals, is very different from most. Its called the "TEVES" brake system. I'll attempt to teach you what does what and why, so you won't spend a ton of money just because you and maybe your mechanic aren't familiar how it...

95 & 96 Continentals are notorious for the front solenoid wiring breaking about 3 to 6 inches away from the connector. Ford makes a good kit to take care of this problem.
If you have it scanned and you get a solenoid open code something like 1873 or something, thats probably your problem.

'spider valve' for air suspension
"Why is it that the Mark VIII's are usually in need of the spider valve, but the Mark VII's are not?" It may be because of how and where the compressor is mounted on the Mark VIII and Town Car, or who knows. All I know is that 80% of the Town Car and Mark VIII compressor cores in my core b...
