Re: 62 - heater/blower motors cut out
in the power box. On the left side row (where is 2 CB's), second from the bottom. That is correct. Today the same happened to me in an inspection, the blowers just turned off after few seconds on my 62 and after some time they started again, just to turn off again. Didn't matter which speed. Thanks...

Re: Replacing Exhaust Manifolds on 430. Interesting Guy
With fuel injection on the engine, the exhaust leak was causing my O2 sensor to detect a "lean" condition, which in turn prompted the fuel injection to drastically increase fuel delivery. Thus the hard starting and poor performance caused by running too rich. O2 sensor is not being used w...

Re: Replacing Exhaust Manifolds on 430. Interesting Guy
One thing I would suggest is taking the manifold to a shop to have the surface milled perfectly flat. One side they did the work, the other side the shop said it already was perfectly straight. It would be quite disappointing to discover a warped manifold after starting the car at job's end. I woul...

Re: Convertible Top Relay Pin Out
There is a breaker within the hydraulic motor. So this is the only breaker regarding the pump, there are no other ones elsewhere in the car that could also cut it out? When the problem comes, the voltage on the pump wires goes to zero when I measured it with a multimeter. Thats why I don't think it...

Re: Convertible Top Relay Pin Out
Had some other things to do but now started to investigate this again. This problem actually is to both directions identical. So when the pump stops when roof is going down, it won't go to other direction either before some 'cooling' time, about 30 seconds. Then it continues every time for some seco...

Re: Replacing Exhaust Manifolds on 430. Interesting Guy
I had a leak on both sides, one side had the exhaust pipe ball joint a bit loose, that one I fixed by taking off carefully the badly rusted nuts and putting new ones (2 per side just in case) and it tightened nicely. On the other side, piece of the gasket was missing from one place from the top, so ...

Re: Alignment vs. tire pull
Who said there was no adjustment? Tow out is easily adjustable. For example here its said that "That's got to be quite the trick on a beam rear axle." http://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=46732 Good to hear it is adjustable, but after I browsed through the mainten...

Re: 1979 Bill Blass 'Parade Edition'
Well, it depends what the papers say. If you bring papers with you that say that's its 'officially' a convertible, then it's probably just registered here also as a convertible and no special inspection is needed.

Re: Convertible Top Relay Pin Out
I checked the voltage to the pump, it goes to zero when the top stops moving. So it's about the relay or the relay activation voltage. I will check that next, just to be sure the problem really is the relay. My hydraulic system works ok at the moment. Its the old relays and switches that need more w...

Re: 67 Top Pump spraying fluid
Sorry if I was unclear, I have no problem anymore, in my case the bolt just was a littlebit loose. When I took the pump in my hand before tightening, I could feel it moving. I think the 67 has also the same kind of bolt holding the reservoir cylinder in place. I have also done a full flush of system...

Re: Convertible Top Relay Pin Out
I have a problem where the top moves for some time then pump stops. This has occurred sooner and sooner lately, so in order to get the top back on I had to do it in like, four cycles. It always required some waiting before pump could be activated again. Today I opened this relay and cleaned the cont...

Re: 67 Top Pump spraying fluid
My 62 pump started spraying from the reservoir yesterday, but the reason was the reservoir tightening bolt which was not optimally tightened and the big O ring came out in one spot from it's groove because the pressure inside the hydraulic system had increased. This happened because I used the pump ...

Re: Alignment vs. tire pull
My car does not go straight, it pulls. I did some checking and noticed that real left wheel points outwards, it has quite a lot of toe out. The rear right wheel is aligned perfect.
How would you fix this, since somebody said there is no adjustment?

Re: Where's the fuel pump rod hole to remove it?
When removing the mechanical pump, is it necessary to remove the rod or can I just leave it there and put a block off plate in the place of the pump? I don't want any damage to the mechanism, since I may later convert back to mechanical. I'm thinking if I leave it, it will start to bounce there unco...
