Re: I am back at it again!!! Question?

I would have to get a new drive shaft and maybe move trans mount This is a little simplistic. The Lincoln has a double insulated trans. mount, two pedestals to a cross bracket, with 4 rubber mounts. Very unique. Tailshaft is also very unique. Factory advertising states the '61 transmission was re-d...

Re: '62, '66, '68 misc.

Well, if not for the shipping cost, I would offer to swap for the '67, I don't need one, but wold rather store that, than the '66s. But oh those shipping costs!
The '68 also has a tilt column, so many tilt columns.

Re: I am back at it again!!! Question?

I wasn't aware of that "61 bolt pattern mod. If you have a picture, the C6 is an all aluminum, one piece design, where the PCA has an iron body, with a separate aluminum bell housing. If you have an engine in the car, it may be in better shape than you think, worth a teardown and inspection.

Re: I am back at it again!!! Question?

Anything can be done, but it will be an adventure. The bolt pattern is different on a 462, which will take a C6 or PCA. I think the 430 and FE have the same bolt pattern, so it could have that. Find out what you have, Then do a lot of measuring. The Lincoln trans. has a smaller bell housing than the...

Re: I am back at it again!!! Question?

Are you sure it's a C6? That could be a problem.
C6 was released in '66, slanted bell housing. longer I think, and different drive shaft. Possible interference with "62 AC. Even more issues if it's a 390 C6.

Re: '62, '66, '68 misc.

I also have this '68 trim package, all of it for $250. One door trim is dented, dash trim paint a little checked, but not lifting.

All will be shipped at actual cost, but come from Canada. I can be reached by PM or 306 445 6847

Re: 69 Sedan Left and Right front turn signal interchange?

I was out to the farm today, and looked a little closer at the '68. Turns out it's the right one that's good, and the left that's cracked. Good condition, but a little faded. I took it out and brought it home, probably will put it on Kijiji, but offer it here first.

Re: 462 Valve cover bolt washers

I was unaware of those, but here is an observation. Many newer engines have such a spacer, built into the gaskets. As such, it would be part of the gasket, and not show up as a separate part in the listings. At that time, Fel-pro and others may have "simplified" their offerings. Perhaps th...

Re: 69 Sedan Left and Right front turn signal interchange?

I should be less impulsive with my posts! I haven't removed it for a proper inspection yet, so it may have hidden cracks. The rt. lens is cracked, but no missing pieces. it will be weathertight.
And right now, it's under a blanket of snow, because this is a long way from the valley of the sun!

Re: Bonnet Question

Lincoln documents claim it is safer on the curbside. It was on the traffic side on some '50s Fords, perhaps they received some complaints.

Re: Anyone have one of these?

Sounds fair, answer first, then hijack. Jon, I sent the part today, will pm the details. While out, I checked Co-op agro and found some similar ends from quickcable.com .(I can't seem to make a link.) Agricultural dealers have some different lines, and I recall that was the only place I could get th...

Re: Clack/Squeak

It sounds like loose brake pads, but that should go away with a light brake. It could also be a stiff front u joint, not yet worn to the point of being loose, but on it's way out. That's a long way from the wheel, but sound can travel. Try starting in 2nd gear, and see if the spacing increases. Also...
