yeah I run the 15w40 T4. from what i've read, it has appr 1200 ppm ZDDP.

no, it has always shifted as if i'm driving full throttle under my ownership. thank you for the modulator tuning picture. i won't have time to turn wrenches for a few days now

was verifying that my engine was pulling proper vacuum at idle and found it was way low. dicked around with that all day before testing the gauge itself with a vacuum pump and it was wayyy off :doh: frustrating day the shop manual doesn't mention adjusting the modulator at all. which way would i tur...

Probably the vacuum modulator. I happened to have a new vacuum modulator and replacing it had no effect. the lines seem to be in very good condition, such that the previous owner probably had them replaced, which tells me someone was trying to fix the same issue. the vacuum hose to the transmission...

Fixed a lot of drivetrain issues and now it's down to this one

While in D1 it will not shift into 2nd gear

while in D2 it won't shift into 3rd until ~90 KPH (canuck here)

I can explain it. It's a peeve. The use of "K" to denote monetary increments grinds my gears because it's stupid..... ... of the popular fad. it's not a fad, it represents greek "kilo" for thousand and is actually not slang, it's a unit prefix. the same as "m" for mill...

I told myself that if my engine ever catastrophically fails, i would do an electric conversion. but since then i've acquired a spare engine. and the original still hums.
so it'll probably never happen!
