This says it's a 1951 lincoln plant and that body number. You'd need the data plate listing the various codes for folks to determine exactly what you have. Could the body number start with a 5 instead of a 1 as the classic car database website lists these cars staring with 5 not 1.

Considering it's apparently rare and they have, or can get it, I'd jump at it, after all where else will you find it. Close to original is good enough when the alternative is none at all.

First, I suggest you move the post to the Convertibles forum, or at least introduce yourself there as folks can assist you. Probably a safer bet to put it on a lift than use the stands, hope the conversion goes well whichever method you select.

It's great, though he doesn't value his safety as his seat belt is unused.

Lovely car and great report, but considering the Mark V was only a coupe I wonder why they waste a line informing you that all cars built were 2-door coupes?
