Re: Lee Iacocca, passed away at 94
Sadly, there are no more visionaries like Lido in the car business. Men like Iacocca, Bob Lutz, John DeLorean and others who had the drive to succeed and the ability to build cars that people actually wanted to buy are sorely missed. RIP Mr. Iacocca.

Cruise control won’t hold
The cruise control on my ‘79 Mark V works fine as long as I’m on level ground. But on even a slight hill, it starts to lose speed. Once it’s lost 10 mph or so it disengages. Any thoughts?

Re: Mark V trunk lid won't stay up
It doesn’t have struts, so I assume it has torsion bars. I think I’ll stay with my prop pod and not fool with the torsion bars. Tried that once, learned my lesson.

Mark V trunk lid won't stay up
The trunk lid on one of my Mark Vs doesn't stay up. It will stay up for a minute or two, then come down. Also, when I go to close it, there is very little resistance. It falls closed by itself. Any suggestions?

Re: Do You Daily Drive Your Lincoln?
No, but I had to go to a board meeting in Neosho today (75 miles one way) and it was such a perfect day that I drove the Bill Blass ‘79 Mark V.

Re: Using a Mechanic/Custom Shop/Body Shop
From both being in the car business and being an enthusiast, I have heard many horror stories over the years. They are more common than you might expect. Here are some tips I recommend before committing your car to a shop. Ask around in the enthusiast community. Good and bad news travels, so that's ...

Re: Hydrographics
I know they use hydrographics on guns, so I'm assuming with the proper process that the film holds up well. I inquired one time locally about having a helmet dipped, and the guy said they dipped it with the padding and everything intact. He assured me that it would dry out OK, but I was wary enough ...

Re: Picture of Aluminum Lug Nut?
In case anyone is interested, McGard makes locking lugs that will fit under the center cap of the aluminum wheels. I have them on both of my Mark Vs.

Re: Possible New Source for Whitewalls
I agree with Suicide Kid. I just put a set of Hankook tires on my '79 and they're starting to leech brown in the whitewall already in spots. Should have bought the Diamondbacks as I have done in the past. Sometimes saving a buck doesn't work out so well. Hopefully the tires the OP mentioned will be ...

Great! I'm looking forward to your experience with that lighting. LEDs are evolving quickly, and that's a good thing.

I guess I'm too late on this, but I use Dr. Color Chip. I like the fact that it's not daubed on. I've had very good results with them.

Re: Where are people getting new Michelins with WWs?
I just bought Hankook wsw tires for my '79 Bill Blass. They balanced out well, but not perfectly. But I'm not running weights on the outside. I think I'll clean up whatever balance issues are left with beads. My complaints are about the whiewall color and the fact that they are already leeching in s...

No relays needed, they draw less than the OEM sealed beams.
