Re: Heater noise

Very possibly normal behavior. The late 60s cars with ATC also chattered when they reached/around the set temperature. Not sure when the system was redesigned, but probably same basic system.

Re: 1966 Conv rear deck/bumper rubber weatherstrip

I have. It’s a pain in the ass. I put the deck lid all the way up and then went to work on the screws. Might be easier to get the center ones if you’re sitting in the trunk.

Re: 1966 Front Shock Absorbers

With as heavy as these cars are I can’t imagine one cheap shock absorber compared to the next would be very much different. I advocated specifically against Monroe Sensacraps in the past only because of my experience on newer Lincolns in that they would make the car ride like a lumber wagon. With th...

They were short-lived, then. They didn’t start until ‘64.
Interesting. I thought the 61-63 had full gauge package, but I know the least about those years.

Can’t believe this is still available. Someone has to be looking for this. Have you tried posting in Continental Comments?

Switches are likely funked up. Also, the grease for the tracks
Has inevitably become sticky and/or hard over time.

Re: Our ‘66 Convertible Project

Interesting. Don’t know that anyone has ever mentioned that location for VIN stamping. The well known one is just above the passenger upper control arm in the engine bay.

Re: Our ‘66 Convertible Project

Sounds like you’re making steady progress. I replaced all of the PS lines on both of my 67s when I did the engine bay detail. Expensive but looks so nice to have clean new parts and more peace of mind on reliability and durability, although I guess the originals lasted 50+ years!

A relative bargain. That car looked to be in exceptional condition, at least cosmetically.
