1961 - 1963 Authenticity Manual
Just wondered if anyone has heard more about when the 61-63 authenticity manual might be done. I know much work has been done by many dedicated volunteers, some who are no longer with us. I also know that that a project such as this is an enormous undertaking. That said, when will we see one. 5+ yea...

Convertible Top Order Info
Hello all, Does anyone have comments regarding the use of a more cloth like material than the original vinyl. I have a 62 in black cherry metallic and thought a taupe or tan in a somewhat canvas like material would look nice. I have seen this material used on other years and liked the contrasting te...

Inner fender walls will be body color, usually with drip marks. The fire wall, engine and most engine components will be black.

'62 color
Hello Mike, Both Powder Blue (code F) and Platinum (code N) were available in 1962, the Platinum that I am looking at from a Ditzler/PPG chart looks like a very, very pale light blue. I could see it looking more off white with just a little age. Doug Dickmann Hoosier Region LCOC Indianapolis, IN '62...

Floor Jack points on a '65
Hello Don, There is a Southern Ohio region that covers Kentucky as well. If you click on the regions section of this site's main page you should be able to access that info. Or you may email me directly at douglessd@aol.com & I'll give you contact info. You will need to join the nation club (if ...

Floor Jack points on a '65
The '65 maintenance manual offers the following instructions for the use of a floor jack. "Do not attempt to raise one entire side of the car by placing a jack mid-way between the front and rear wheels." ...damage could occur. "Each front wheel can be raised independently by placing a...

Video of 60's TV commercials & Wixom plant
Hello all, Does anyone have, or ever seen available, video of early 1960's Lincoln TV commercials or of assembly activities at Wixom? I have from time to time seen eBay offerings of '60s car commercial videos, some of which purportedly contained Lincoln ads. One that I bought had many commercials, b...

Owners hand book
Over the years I have picked up both "versions" of the 1962 Owners manual. I got them out to cHeck them as I read the above posts. Ironically one of the "black ones" has "RETURN TO GM-GENERAL MOTORS ENGINEERING STAFF, TECHNICAL DATA SECTION" How about that, a GM - Linco...

WINDOW STICKER
Hello, I ordered a 1962 window sticker from somebody on eBay. It is a "Jim Osborn Reproductions, Inc." authorized reproduction. It is not bad, but is in black and white as opposed to the yellow/gold Lincoln star, the fonts are also abit off as well. The back of the original one has the Lin...

Cracking Interior!!!
Hello Leonard, I noted your comment "when I bought the car, the seats were as hard as cardboard." I had a 65' several years ago that had seats in similar condition, I too worked like hell to give them back some life. Which I thought I did, in that they really softened up and looked so much...

Bucket Seat option on 1963?
Hello Chuck,
Yes that was the car, triple black 62'. I thought it was an interesting story. That same guy had helped another make that change to his 63', which also looked great.
If I remember right you had an exceptional blue 61' I think it was. Beautiful car.
Happy Holidays
Doug

Bucket Seat option on 1963?
I have seen a 62' with leather split buckets that was supposedly special ordered from Wixom for comsmetics mogoul Max Factor. These were done in the biscuit pattern that you would normally see for cloth, but these were leather. If you have ever seen a closeup of the Kennedy X-100, that is what these...

1961 - 1963 Authenticity manual
Helo all, Thanks John T. for your update. I just had to vent abit. I am sure this, as well as all other authenticity manuals, are not only huge projects, but I'll just bet the day one comes out there will 1 maybe even 2 members who will have commentary. I don't envy those who have taken on such a ve...

Why Unibody?
Hello all, In the book "LINCOLN 1958-1969" by James Howell, (a must read for fans of this era Lincoln) in reference to the move towards unibody/unitbody construction: the author refers to a magazine article of the time stating "One thing that could force the switch is the ever-present...

1961 - 1963 Authenticity manual
Hello John T, Willard, et.al. Thanks for the update. That is was pretty much my understanding. I too applaud Dr. Norberg for all of his efforts as well as the current crew working on this project. I never meet Dr. Norberg, but during the short time I was a region director and attending national meet...
