Try cleaning the switch contacts. Start with the drivers first.

Re: Request Input, Terminal Cancer On Subframe
"I guess complexity is all relative to your knowledge base." I believe this is the critical issue followed by the cost consideration. If there was only one left in the world the options would be limited and worthy of a different response but that rust is EXTENSIVE isn't it? A healthy dono...

Re: ‘69 MK3 - window motor question
Rock Auto is my preferred supplier for parts for my Mark III. They list the left and right motor separately, CARDONE 4231 and CARDONE 4232.
The gear you have with the springs is not original but in my opinion is a much better option. I would keep it even if you don't use it now.
Keep us posted.

Tony you can't possibly leave that statement without a DETAILED explanation.I remember well chronic flying-saucer incidents after she went to radials, though...but that's another matter.

Re: Speedometer Needle Jumps
The bounce is usually caused by the inner cable rubbing against the outer casing. Check for any kinks or tight bends along the length. Failing that you can withdraw the inner cable and ensure no strands have broken and are rubbing, or that dirt is causing the friction. The inner cable can be lightly...

Re: 71 Mark Power Seat Switch
There are four clips that hold the top and bottom section. Hold the top and bottom of the switch together while removing the clips. Contacts are readily accessible and easily cleaned.

Re: 76 rear window problem
I don't buy parts now based on which company makes them. If the parts were made in the country the car was made I buy one. If they were made in a different country, I buy two. The cost is about the same.

Re: Found this on drivers floormat
I think its electrical and given its rigid perhaps its an internal part of a switch. The V perhaps works to align the contacts.

Re: Linkage help 71 Mark
I don't think I've ever seen a replacement part listed for that location. There was nothing there at all when I endeavoured to find the reason why the linkage was so sloppy. And I still don't know what was there originally but I figured it wasn't welded after assembly with a plastic bush in place. S...

I believe they may have sent you the wrong item. Rock Auto still lists a 5/8" but is nil stock on the 1/2".
