Re: Differences in the MKS's

I don't think there were significant changes made between the original 2009 MKS and the last one prior to its replacement by the Continental. I can say that the larger and heavier MKS rides much smoother and softer than the MKZ. This is from experience evaluating both prior to purchase. The MKS is w...

Re: Rim size. Lincoln MKS.

My wife drove a 2012 MKS for 5 years on stock wheels and tires. The ride quality was excellent. I would suggest to you that if you buy the MKS you leave the wheels and tires stock. The car was designed for them and I doubt you will improve things by changing things up.

Re: Sheet metal help!!!

This is not what you are going to want to hear, but this sheet metal is not reproduced to my knowledge. The exception is trunk lids which are being reproduced in fiberglass for some model years. A search on this forum's search bar will likely reveal a discussion of who does these. If I recall correc...

Re: Any tips on pulling blower motor switch on a 65?

There are 2 phillips head screws on the face of the switch plate. Once removed, the switch assembly pulls out and you unplug the wiring harness.

Re: 57 Tbird question

I think we're all saying the same thing IF the difference in the scenario is the actual engine running vs. just having the ignition switch on. I agree testing with a meter or test light is a good idea. But if in fact the actual engine has to be running for the brake lights to work then it is possibl...

Re: 57 Tbird question

That should not be the case. The brake lights should work even with the engine off. The fact that it works when running suggests to me a bad switch on the master cylinder. When the engine is running, you get enough vacuum assist to activate the switch. When it's not running, you don't. Imagine the s...

Re: 1963 carpet

Even if you can, why would you want to? Unless you are trying to fit a used carpet set from a newer car I guess. Otherwise, buy a set for a 63 and don't worry about it.

Re: Brake light switch on dual master

As you know, the pressure sensing switch for the brake lights is located directly in the single master cylinder body. If I am understanding you correctly and your dual MC is like the one you pictured, you are saying there is an unused bung on the lower side of the dual MC you are using. If that is c...

I wouldn't want an un-insulated wire back there. That jumper sounds like a short or fire just waiting to happen.

Re: Help, No Brake Travel 1964

There are some instruction links on the forum, including a list of tools you need, to pull the booster. Just do a search on booster removal and you will find it complete with pics. With the right combination of common tools ( largely different lengths of 1/4 inch socket extensions) it isn't too bad ...

Re: Help, No Brake Travel 1964

The panel extension is a lower section of the dash than the part you show in the picture. It is missing on a lot of these cars as it doesn't show but was there originally for sound and heat deadening and most of the time once it's removed for servicing it never finds its way back on. If you can see ...
