1977 Lincoln Continental convertible
I meant to post this earlier, but I'm just now getting around to it. I was recently at a small car show here in San Diego, when this lady drove up in this 1977 Lincoln Continental convertible, and I realized I'd never seen one before. I started chatting with her and it turns out it was special order...

Re: Bucket Seat Thread
Reading through the 1961-1963 Authenticity Manual, I found the answer to my question on Page 68, Paragraph 2.1, in the discussion of special orders for paint, upholstery or combinations not normally offered: "...Other special orders could be for equipment not usually available such as bucket se...

Re: I'm new! 64 rear door stuck locked!
Sweet glad you got it popped open! To tell you the truth once I went through the whole same process of getting the door open, pulled the latch assembly, cleaned it all out, lubricated it, and put it back in. The first time I shut the door, it locked again and wouldn't open! I had to go thru the enti...

Re: I'm new! 64 rear door stuck locked!
I had this happen recently in my 64 too. When you press the door handle, the lever inside the latch normally pushes on the door open mechanism inside the latch. When the door is locked, this lever bypasses the door open mechanism. When the latch is dirty and gummy, the mechanism doesn't go back to t...

Re: Radio Troubleshooting? (1965)
My first 65 radio didn't work either. I pulled it out and took to a repair guy who does old hifi stereos in his garage. He found the on switch was bad and no carrying go the 12v through the switch to the radio. He rigged the switch to another 12v source inside the radio and bam, worked great. Pull t...

Re: Amp Installation Remote Turn on
Do you have a volt meter? I found a switched 12v source in less than 5 minutes with my multimeter. Remove the passenger kick panel inside the car. Turn your ignition key to the ACC. Behind the kick panel you'll see several relays and terminals. Stick the black lead on your meter to the underside of ...

The piece is not chrome on 65s. It is covered in vinyl to match the interior. 64s were stainless
